Charlie Wilson Concert Schedule

The Gap Band alumnus and adult contemporary R&B superstar Charlie Wilson has been dazzling audiences and listeners with his sultry vocals since the takeoff of his solo career in the early 2000s. Charlie Wilson's tour dates feature an electrifying energy more akin to a tight-knit party than a sold-out concert, as seen in his 2017 In It To Win It Tour, his 2015 Forever Charlie Tour and his 2013 Love, Charlie Tour, among many others. Wilson is known for his smooth funk & soul singing style, which, combined with his talents as a songwriter, producer and keyboardist, has led to the creation of numerous R&B hits over his eight solo studio albums. On stage, Charlie puts on a show with an unmatched level of energy. He beckons crowds to take to their feet and feel the music as his band delivers with tightly composed rhythms and he serenades with his dulcet melodies. In addition to praise from fellow performers, Charlie Wilson's music has earned him 11 Grammy Award nominations, six NAACP Image Award nominations (along with one win for Outstanding Album), and numerous honors from BET, Billboard and Soul Train, along with acknowledgements from across the music industry and beyond.

Charlie Wilson Background

Charlie Wilson was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1953. The son of a Christian minister, he learned to play piano and sing in church, providing the musical background that led to the formation of The Gap Band with his brothers Ronnie and Robert. After the group announced their retirement in 2010, Charlie shifted his focus to concentrate on his solo career, becoming Billboard Magazine's No. 1 Adult R&B Artist and a breakout success. Wilson's first solo album, Bridging The Gap, came in 2000, earning him acclaim from the single "Without You." His follow-up release, Charlie, Last Name Wilson, went certified gold and produced the eponymous single (along with fellow R&B vocalist R. Kelly) by which he is most often known. In subsequent years, Charlie Wilson continued to release and chart on the Billboard Hot 200 and R&B/Hip-Hop charts and sold more than 1 million copies of his albums. Wilson has inspired generations of performers who also feature him on their own records. He was given the affectionate nickname "Uncle Charlie" by Snoop Dogg and collaborated with the rapper (and Justin Timberlake) on the 2013 track "Signs.

    Good Show!

by Marcia D. on 5/15/24UBS Arena - Belmont Park

Overall, good show but sorry to say that Charlie did not live up to the hype. He was winded and his mike was low so we couldn't hear him most of the time when he was singing, and I had floor seating very close to the stage. Best part was Dru Hill.

    Disappointed

by Love concerts on 5/15/24UBS Arena - Belmont Park

Kem was great. Dru Hill was great but Uncle Charlie was disappointing. It was my first time seeing him. He did too many costume changes. Disappeared forc10 mins and came back with just a medley only focusing on 2 hits and did more talking than singing. I left his set after 20 minutes

Charlie Wilson is a great performer

by Pamusicdiva on 5/15/24Pier Six Pavilion - Baltimore

My experience with using tick pic is wonderful. Never had a problem with getting my electronic tickets and I love that they do not have all these charges attached to the tickets. As far as the venue where Charlie Wilson was performing in Baltimore at the six Pier. My only complaint is most places are not tall friendly lol

    Good

by ED on 5/15/24UBS Arena - Belmont Park - Long Island

Druhill and Kem were excellent! Charlie Wilson mic was very low you could not hear him. He still has a lovely voice when he could be heard. Charlie would probably be entertaining if he sat at the keyboard and sang now.

Charlie was great but too much wait to see him.

by Eva on 5/15/24UBS Arena - Belmont Park - Long Island

Always loved Charlie. Great performer . Should have either started earlier or left out Kem. Older crowds don’t have the patience to wait for the headliner . Heard many comments around me that all they came to see was Charlie . Would have paid the same amount for an hour of Charlie and maybe a half hour of an opener !! Charlie was good though.

    Best viewed at another venue

by Peggy on 5/15/24UBS Arena - Belmont Park - Long Island

UBS Arena is a nice facility best utilized for hockey games. The stage was not visible from most seats, only beneficial for floor or side seats close to stage. No screens of the performers to iniclude the other seated guests and the music overpowered the talented voices of all of the entertainers as well as made enjoy the music unpleaseantly loud. This event was better suited for a smaller intimitate venue such as Westbury music fair.

Uncle Charlie and the rest of the Gang Killed It

by SirStinson on 5/15/24UBS Arena - Belmont Park - Long Island

I went for Uncle Charlie Wilson and left amazed by the rest of the incredible show. I was already a big Sisqo and Dru Hill fan so it was great seeing them perform all the hits including the classic “Thong Song”. The big surprise for me was Kem. I had heard the name but didn’t realize how talented the crooner was. Had the whole audience going. Especially the ladies.
