THE AMITY AFFLICTION IN CONCERT:
The Amity Affliction is a hardcore punk collective that’s taking their native Australia by storm with fast-paced music and intense live shows. Whether they’re tearing through the growl-filled track “Pittsburgh” or getting fans to mosh and sing along, the band delivers one energy-fueled performance after another for crowd-surfing fans.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
The Amity Affliction was formed by high school friends Ahren Stringer and Troy Brady in 2003. After playing concerts on campus, they started to take their music more seriously and added two more members – classmates Garth Buchanan and Lachlan Faulkner – to the lineup. The group embarked on a tour to support their 2005 debut EP and began to introduce their music to legions of fans around Australia. They spent the next few years honing their craft and in 2008 they released their full-length debut Severed Ties, which peaked at No. 6 on the Australian Artists Albums chart and launched major tours with the Getaway Plan and Elora Danan. Since then the Amity Affliction has released three more popular albums – including the chart-topping albums Chasing Ghosts (2012) and Let the Ocean Take Me (2014) – played major festivals like Warped Tour, and headlined several dates of their own, at venues like The Fillmore (Philadelphia). On tour the Amity Affliction continues to deliver gripping, revved-up live performances that no fan of punk will want to miss.
They brought it! Super nice guys too! Got to meet them and take pics with them. The show was great.
Dying wish and TAA where great, cant wait to see them again. Currents and Mugshot were just okay for me. Really like House of Blues Houston as a venue.
I love attending shows at the house of blues, the sound is just amazing. But, to have a band like TAA play there. Absolutely INSANE. They sounded sooooo good! Thank you for the amazing performance 🖤
The show was great!! Loved all the bands. The only thing I didn’t like was the merchandise area you needed to scan a QR code to get in line which does make sense since people are now just waiting by the line. Also the VIP area is not worth the money, can’t get a good view anywhere in that area.
The venue was ok, hard to know where to go for things (bathroom food seats etc) when new. The first bands were ok but the headliner was not good. Everything was off key, not warmed up or something, and felt rushed. Sounded horrible 90% of the time but every once in a while it was good. Super disappointing. Seen them in a super small venue and was really good. Hoping for better. Had fun still just disappointed.
Made it for Currents and The Amity Affliction and both were amazing. Both bands sounded incredible live and had great energy. I was trembling I was so excited
The opening bands were SO good, I now follow them on Spotify. Amity Affliction was, by every definition, the best it could have possibly been. When they played "Don't Lean on Me"I literally started crying. It was SUCH a good set and I was so impressed with how many songs they ended up playing. They were all bangers. My voice is completely gone from sing screaming all the lyrics with them. I also LOVE going to the Depot. I'm in a wheelchair and they have AWESOME ADA accommodations. I felt like I really had the very best time and am so thankful I got to see a band that meant so much to me in a venue that is near and dear to my heart. Thank you TAA, this metal head is very happy and will never forget this experience. Please come back ASAP!!!!!
This was my first metal concert and oh my! I got the tickets for my husband’s birthday as it’s one of his favorite bands and they did not disappoint! I didn’t want to show to end and want to go to all their concerts now.
Amazing experience I shared with my daughter. All the bands played perfect. Everyone was kind got to meet some kind individuals.
All the bands did amazing and it was a great show!
