About

Erykah Badu, one of the world’s most revered singers, is widely credited as being the godmother of neo-soul. Badu’s blend of hip-hop swagger and smooth jazz draws inspiration from Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and Chaka Khan, and has earned her a total of four Grammy nominations. Pitchfork described the four-time Grammy Award-winning artist’s 1997 debut album Baduizm as an “existential anchor of the neo-soul movement.” The triple-platinum album debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, and lead single “On & On” won the Grammy for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance at the 1998 Grammy Awards. Badu’s enduring legacy was cemented on the road, where she has sung to sold-out crowds on multiple worldwide tours. The R&B legend has released five critically-acclaimed studio albums, and has been featured on hit songs by Busta Rhymes, Macy Gray and Janelle Monáe.

  • Erykah was amazing! Seats meh

by Liz on 3/10/25Moda Center - PortlandRating: 4 out of 5

Erykah absolutely killed it! She has an incredible voice. Very personable and funny on stage. Awesome show overall! This event was rescheduled, which sucked. But what sucked even more was having purchased club level seats and then being told upon arrival that they closed that section and reassigned us seats...the reassigned seats were TERRIBLE...even tho they claimed they were an upgrade...I wish they would have told us in advance or let us pick new seats....

  • Blew us away

This was the second time we have seen Eryka Badu. The last time was at The Schnitz so I was concerned about how she would do in such a much larger venue. I shouldn't have been at all. Not only did she deliver an amazing and powerhouse of a show it was perfect for the size of the Moda Center. Her voice was clear, strong and powerful. We are still talking about it now, days later. Would see it again if we could, that's how awesome the show was.

  • Badu is good for the soul!

The show had no opening act and we the crowd did not care one bit.

  • Ridiculous wait time for the show to start!

by JK on 11/21/24Bill Graham Civic Auditorium - San FranciscoRating: 1 out of 5

Concert info said 7:00 doors, 8:00 show. We arrive a little before 8:00 to our reserved seats and listed to dj play list until 9:45 for the show to start. We could have gone to a club for a fraction of the price. No announcement, just keep waiting… won’t go see her again!

  • Artist was late

by Ben on 11/20/24Bill Graham Civic Auditorium - San FranciscoRating: 2 out of 5

Erykah Badu was nearly two hours late. Too many audiences openly smoked. It was a terrible experience.

  • I want my money back

by H Man on 11/20/24Bill Graham Civic Auditorium - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

Concert started 2 hours late. Performance was only 1 hour.
