Aladdin was truly over the top professional, BUT...
by Caroline on 4/8/24San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoBUT: Sadly, my granddaughter and I sat in front of a couple with a child who was too young to attend. The parents spoke to her FULL VOICE constantly during the play, and there was no attempt by the parents to keep her quiet. It was extremely rude and disruptive. The man next to me was disturbed as well. I did not say anything, since my 10 year old granddaughter was enthralled with the show, and it was her first professional production. I did not want to "embarass"her--She is right at that age. When we stood up to leave, my granddaughter was standing in a huge puddle of spilled soda, directly from the seat behind hers, All their trash and food containers were spilled on the floor and left. We were sitting in mid Orchestra seats on the main floor. How about an age limit for children who are simply too young to grasp what;s going on? I guess we can't do much about the parents.. I am currently teaching Voice out of my home, and previously taught both Drama and Music in the schools.
