About

Fans in search of toe-tapping, brass-honking, high-energy swing revival need look no further than Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. The slick, stylish group have always been as tight as a drum on record, but their live performances are even more impressive, inciting furious dancing among veteran and novice swing dancers alike. Dressed to the nines in their trademark zoot suits and brandishing upbeat favorites like "Go Daddy-O" and "Mr. Pinstripe Suit," Big Bad Voodoo Daddy will take the stage with more energy than ever on their upcoming tour.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy was formed in Southern California in 1989 by frontman Scotty Morris and drummer Kurt Sodergren. After self-releasing their eponymous debut album in 1994, the band got their big break when their songs "Go-Daddy-O," "Mr. Pinstripe Suit," and "You & Me & The Bottle Makes 3 Tonight (Baby)" were featured in the 1996 cult film classic Swingers. The popularity boost that followed landed them a deal with Capitol Records, resulting in a string of swinging albums that included Americana Deluxe (1998) and Save My Soul (2003). In addition to performing in the 1999 Super Bowl half-time show, the band has shared the stage with some of the world's leading symphony orchestras, including the LA Phil and the San Francisco Symphony. Big Bad Voodoo Daddy fans have plenty to look forward to as the boys hit the road for another electric round of shows.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"These guys are one of the slickest units touring today. They deliver to goods every night and watching the interaction on stage is really the cherry on top. Everything a professional touring band should be."

"...if you like big band music you will never see better players and/or performers! Truly amazing players and Scott the lead singer was spot on as always!"

"As good as the recordings are, they are even better live! The lead singer, Scotty, has a unique voice, great style, and a charming attitude. The band was masterful and tight."

    Shear music genius

by Moose on 5/15/24The Wellmont Theater - Montclair

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy did not disappoint. Their choice for opening act Lara Hope and The Ark Tones was brilliant. Outstanding music and vocals with a snazzy stage presence makes this one of the best shows ever. Start to finish magic and an encore to remember my whole life through. Top hats and sharp dressed presence makes them unique beyond all others. The entire bands contribution to musical genius deserve every bit the standing ovation they received. Bravo gentleman for a job well done. And hats off to Lady Lara for her stunning stage presence and amazing performance.

Best show in a long time

by JimmyB131 on 5/15/24The Wellmont Theater - Montclair

This band kicks ass like no other. They've been together for 31 years, all original members. And unlike a lot of my favorite older bands, these guys don't look like they are ready for the old folks home. They look young and vibrant. Scotty's voice is amazing. And apparently all the members can sing. The hot=rn section and percussion are tight tight tight. Their sound was beautifully mixed . They sound just like their recordings. And they played all my favorites. Watching them perform is just amazing and if you didg their music you will not be able to sit still. If you have a chance to see them, Do not miss them. Best sho I've seen in a long time!

    A swinging good time!

by Kitty on 12/23/23Taft Theatre - Cincinnati

Yet again, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy has delivered a great time, singing and playing a wide selection of Christmas songs and secular favorites from their repertoire. The audience clapped and sang, even danced in the aisles. The best band to see in concert, and I am already looking forward to seeing them next time around this area.

    Excellent music, but

by Gurney on 12/23/23Taft Theatre - Cincinnati

Have been wanting to see Big Bad Voodoo Daddy for a while now, and they didn't disappoint! Awesome music and very good presentation. Good vocals and acoustics. But, even though they didn't take a break, the set was too short. It was maybe 90 minutes, including the encore. For the money, i'd hope to get at least 2 hours.

    Perfect

by Cookie on 12/23/23Taft Theatre - Cincinnati

World class musicians that sound as good or better than their studio produced albums and you got to pick up in the personality of the band. They come across as very humble and appreciative of their fans.
