Great seat, Great great musicans. Wonderful experience
Vai and Satriani are you kidding me? Even What a great show! Steve Vai even said he was waiting more than 50 years for this tour with Joe, his first guitar teacher. The 2 guitar greats did not disappoint. Then they ended with Metallica’s Enter Sandman with Joe fittingly playing Kirk Hammett’s lead parts. Another successful Satriani student!. Steve will be joining King Crimson in few months for their tour and of course Joe will join Sammy Hagar, Mike and Jason for the Best Of All Worlds tour and he’ll take on Edward’s parts on the Van Halen songs. Can’t wait!
Vai and Satch both sounded great. Good setlist, additional players… Kenny Aronoff! If you love rock/metal music and havent seen this, its like going to Rome and not having pasta or seeing the Coliseum and Sistine Chapel! Bad Ass!
First time at HardRock Sacramento venue which I enjoyed the amplified sound.
3 hours of guitar heaven .The guitar heros did not dissapoint. My first time seeing Steve Vai and third time seeing Joe Satriani. Seeing them together was an amazing experience. The things those guys can do with a guitar is mindblowing. I could not make it to the G3 concert in Reno earlier in the year but got to see them minus Eric Johnson unfortunately buy Satch/Vai rocked the stage. Crowd was very into the show. Glad I made the trip to Wheatland to catch this concert. Loved when they jammed together after their own sets. The band was on fire too. Kenny Arnoff on drums was incredible. Rock on guys forever.
Steve Vai opened the show on time, and played a great selection of songs. He even unveiled his famed "Hydra"(6-string guitar, 7-string guitar, 4-string bass and a harp) and displayed his amazing multi-instrument virtuosity. After a brief stage equipment turn over, Joe Satriani also played an incredible set, playing most of his hits, as well as a few covers with Steve Vai at the end of his set. The finale was a lively expanded version of Metallica's Enter Sandman with blistering and soaring guitar solos by both guitar virtuosos. Both of their bands were excellent, all members playing very tightly and with technical precision. A truly epic show, and I heard many attendees say the same or similar as we walked out after the lights came up.
I was probably the only person walking into the Joe Satriani Concert who was not familiar with him. I left the show a huge fan of his. Absolutely phenomenal guitar playing. And very cool that he ended the concert playing with Steve Vai, who was a student of his 52 years ago!! I will definitely see Joe Satriani again if he is in our area.
Great venue and great acoustics. Joe and Steve tore it up. They ended with a 10+ minute version of Enter Sandman that slayed! I noticed that Joe ditched Marshall and is using 3rd Power amplifiers. They sounded great.
He is a great musician. Him and Steve Vai we're playing with absolute precision. Love the Hard Rock Sacramento for concerts!
Steve Vai, ohh woww, I was mesmerized lol. Joe was amazing. So glad we were able to see them both. Great venue. Hard Rock Sacramento/Wheatland, CA When they played Van Halen and Metallica OMG so awesome.
