Joy + Rachel on a Saturday night at the famed Apollo theater- what could any right minded liberal ask for?

Not only am I thoroughly grateful to Joy Reid for the respect and honor she bestowed on the Evers family by documenting the triumph of their love story, but I am thankful I was present to hear stories I may not read in the book. It was a truly Joyful evening!! Thank you Joy Reid, Rachel Maddow, Rev Al Sharpton, and MSNBC for giving us Hope.

This event exceeded my expectations. The history lesson from Rachel Maddow was great. I thoroughly enjoyed the discussion about Joy's book. I also appreciated the surprise appearance of Rev. Al Sharpton!

Everything about this evening was informative, enjoyable and eye opening. Joy Reid and Rachel Maddow are ultimate professionals. The only let down of the evening was the event bar staff, slamming bottles and boxes as they closed the bar while Joy was on stage. The Apollo bar staff were terribly inconsiderate.

First and foremost, legendary Al Sharpton introduced Rachel Maddow and then Joy Reid. I was in Heaven before , during and after the show. Unforgettable event.

It was a wonderful experience, thought provoking, funny, sad, all of it at once.

Joy Reid and Rachel Maddow are national treasures. The Apollo was an amazing venue for this event. Joy’s book was included in the price of the ticket. I can’t wait to start reading it. But honestly that was a major highlight of my year.

Have Joy Reid, Al Sharpton and Rachel Maddow on the stage at the same time was amazing. I learned so much and laughed while doing it. Getting the book was icing on the cake.
