Melanie Martinez on Tour

Melanie Martinez's first major performance was no small gig. As a teenager, she sang, played guitar and tapped a tambourine with her feet to a crowd of over 12 million on national television, where she impressed three of four judges on NBC's The Voice. Since that momentous day in 2012, the singer-songwriter with the two-toned hair has quickly grown into a full-fledged pop star with a quirky alter ego (Cry Baby) to boot. Onstage, Martinez plays with a colorful, childlike whimsy with striking visuals to match. She first took her show on the road in 2014 for the Dollhouse tour, followed by the Cry Baby world tour to support her 2015 debut album. In between, she landed support slots alongside Lindsey Stirling and Adam Lambert. In 2019, to coincide with her sophomore album and first feature film, K-12, Martinez announced her next world tour.

Melanie Martinez in Concert

Melanie Martinez's surreal alt-pop draws from an array of influences, from The Beatles to 2Pac to Britney Spears, the latter who would help bring the young singer-songwriter to TV screens across the U.S. The Queens-born, Long Island–raised Martinez started writing poetry in kindergarten and taught herself how to play guitar by the time she reached high school. In 2012, during her junior year, she landed a televised audition on NBC's The Voice, where she sang Spears' "Toxic." The performance earned her a spot on Adam Levine's team. She made it to the top six before being eliminated. Keeping up the momentum of her newfound fame, Martinez started working on original music. In 2014, she released her debut single "Dollhouse." Soon after, she signed to Atlantic Records and unveiled her debut EP, also called Dollhouse. The following year, she began teasing music from her debut album, including lead single "Pity Party," a dark, dance-y spin on Lesley Gore's classic 1963 track "It's My Party." In August 2015, she released Cry Baby — a reference to her being called "cry baby" as a kid. The album debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard 200 chart. To support the album, Martinez took on the role of filmmaker, directing some of her own music videos. She'd continue pursuing those ambitions for her second album, 2019's K-12, which is accompanied by its own fanciful full-length feature film, written and directed by Martinez herself.

    Childhood fulfilled, but terrible view

    by Meg on 5/20/24

I don’t believe this is Melanie’s fault, but I had a side view and all of her sets were inside this part of the stage, so she was not visible at all for many songs and I couldn’t see the background which is such a big part of her performances! The side view tickets shouldn’t even had been sold period. But it was still literally a life changing night and I’m so happy that I could see her play songs which meant so much to me when I was younger. I cried so much 😭😭😭😭 crybaby 4L🍼🧸🐇🕯️🩹

Melanie Martinez and her team put on an amazing show!

by Dakota C. on 5/20/24Oakland Arena - Oakland

The show was absolutely wonderful. Melanie's talent is a gift that just keeps giving! Every artist involved in the show seems to get lots of love from both the crowd and Melanie Martinez herself. It's amazing to see so many like-minded people gathering to celebrate their artistic vision. The only problem I had there was with the arena itself; overpriced everything and poor accessibility for disabled folks. But overall I had a great time seeing one of my favorite artists!

    Best decision I ever made

by Vicky on 5/19/24Climate Pledge Arena - Seattle

Honesty I have issues with concerts being far to loud (I have sensitive ears) but despite it definitely being a little loud for me the show was so amazing and well done that I honestly forgot about the ear thing and had a blast! 10/10 would do again.

not a good view, overall nice performance

    by :) on 5/19/24Oakland Arena - Oakland

the backstage seats are no joke. can’t see the stage at all and the seats are unreasonably expensive. there was a screen on top for us to see but everything was so inverted and i didn’t enjoy it as much. those seats shouldn’t even be sold. melanie did a great performance and great acting.

Melanie has always kept a special place in my heart growing up and seeing her in person has left me speechless. She was even more amazing and incredible and ethereal in person and her music made genuine tears fall as I was blessed to witness her beauty and talent live in person. No words could ever come close to summing up the experience and power she brings. I love you.

    Coolest Concert Ever!

by Gianna on 5/19/24Acrisure Arena at Greater Palm Springs - Palm Desert

As a die hard Melanie Martinez fan, I was so excited to go to this tour because she was performing all of her eras!! I was not disappointed at all. The production value of this concert is unlike anything I have experienced and I am planning on going again in July!! Even if you aren’t familiar with Mel’s music, the whole concert tells crybaby’s story beautifully and anyone can appreciate the amount of dedication and attention to detail that Mel pours into her work! 10/10 will be going to see all of her concerts!!
