    Dracula for the win!

by NOLA Native on 5/15/24Orpheum Theater - New Orleans

Why didn't someone think of this sooner?!! Told the story, Van Helsing, Harpies, and of course the evil lord himself!! With New Orleans as a Halloween destination, I can see this ballet becoming an anticipated favorite.

    Unbelievable!!

by Ballet Mama on 5/15/24Orpheum Theater - New Orleans

This was one of the most amazing works of art!! Oliver’s direction and choreography was brilliant! The dancers were beautiful and danced with joy… but played the dark roles incredibly too! Please do this ballet again! We didn’t want it to end!!! Everything NOBT does is top notch and wonderful! They are such an asset to New Orleans and the entire Southeast! Bravo, NOBT, on another beautiful and outstanding performance!

    Riveting

by Mollie Kelly on 5/14/24Orpheum Theater - New Orleans

NOBT’s performance of the original ballet Dracula was riveting. The choreography, music & the dancers were all perfection. If they dance this ballet again do not miss it.

    Exciting

by Lydia on 5/14/24Orpheum Theater - New Orleans

Disclaimer: this is the first ballet show ive ever seen. But I am a huge fan of Bram Stoker's Dracula! It was the first book I read straight through. The ballet group was spectacular in recreating the story! The action, the grace, the subtle facial changes made the performance amazing. I laughed, I blushed... the performer portraying Dracula captured his menace and his inner struggle superbly. Lucy and Mina portrayed elegantly their love for each other. Lucy's suitors were so entertaining as they vied for her hand! And Renfield's insanity was perfect! I loved it and I hope the entire group enjoyed performing it! Thank you for an amazing introduction in storytelling with no words but with awesome body language!

    Lacked cohesion

by Mom on 5/14/24Orpheum Theater - New Orleans

My Daughter & I left after the first set. The music etc of each piece just didn’t flow. Each set seemed too different to blend together.

    Unexpected

by Kenrod on 5/14/24Orpheum Theater - New Orleans

I’ve been to a lot of ballets, not one like this. Many unexpected facets! The use of popular music was a refreshing addition. You could feel the entire audience engage when a known piece of music started. The pas with two men were powerful and expressive. The dancers were very professional and engaging. The “casket girls” were especially outstanding. The characters that emerged from their performances was outstanding! If you enjoy dance, this is a must see!
