This was my 3rd time seeing Uriah Heep and they did not disappoint. Their sound was tight and they were rockin. They put on an excellent show with 11 songs including 4 songs from their very recent newest album and included classics such as RAINBOW DEMON, GYPSY, EASY LIVIN, LOOK AT YOURSELF, SWEET LORRAINE, JULY MORNIN, & FREE 'N' EASY. Adam Wakeman, the son of the great Rick Wakeman of YES fame, was their keyboardist. The whole band just killed it that night - excellent set and full warm sound. Mick Box and Bernie Shaw have not lost it.
SAXON was a more METAL beast and this was my 2nd time seeing them. They also put on an energetic killer show with DIAMOND HEAD leader & guitarist Brian Tatler as their newest member. Their sound was a bit more raw and abrasive as compared to Uriah Heep's sound but you can still feel their genuine love for rockin in front of a live audience. They played 4 songs from their newest album and included classics such MOTORCYCLE MAN, 747 STRANGERS IN THE NIGHT, WHEELS OF STEEL, DALLAS 1 PM, HEAVY METAL THUNDER, PRINCESS OF THE NIGHT, NEVER SURRENDER, DENIM & LEATHER, THIS TOWN ROCKS, POWER & THE GLORY, CRUSADER, RIDE LIKE THE WIND & SACRIFICE.
If you were not there at Penn's Peak that night, that is a shame. Biff and the boys still have it.
