It cannot be verbalized how great Sunny Day Real Estate is live. The guitars are tight and all encompassing. The drums are something you only hear from the best musicians. And Jeremy's voice hasn't changed in the slightest. Highly reccomend seeing them live and I'm so glad they're back to touring. Lets hope for a new record.
I went in nervous left a new person lol and I think I need to see more acts in the Irving Plaza
To begin the security was incredibly kind, I was even given the lead guitarists pick by one of the members of security. They took great care of us gave us water and kept eagle eyes on the crowd. The opening band Rocket was amazing, then when Sunny Day Real Estate came out I was sold. SDRE was the absolute best concert I’ve ever been to they played so well so dynamic and the kindness and acknowledgment that had for the crowd made everybody feel cared for. I would do it again undoubtedly. Word.
Man, oh man. What I show. 1st time seeing SDRE in their long history of being a band. They delivered 💯 Go see them on their current tour.
I've been a fan of Sunny Day Real Estate since the mid-90's so I once I heard that they were touring to celebrate the 30-year anniversary of the release of Diary, I knew I was going. They did not disappoint! They opened up with "8"(one of my favorites), which was originally on the Pink album but added to the re-release of Diary. From that point on, they ran through the entire Diary album and concluded with a four song encore. For about two hours, the band killed it while the crowd sang along to every song. Absolutely incredible show. Hands down, one of the best shows I've ever seen.
Brought me back to my emo youth in full. Jeremy (Singer) sounded like he hadn't aged a day and William (Drummer) was killer!
This band is so down to earth, and I’m proud to have had the pleasure to talk with them. They really enjoy the fans, the music playing experience, and tour. I took my grandmother to see them for her birthday and she was left with a big smile across her face. You can witness the passion they have for playing.
This was a demonstration of amazingly expensive guitar gear. Amazing vocal performance. The title track from the new album The Rising Tide and The Ocean sounded great live. The classic songs sounded really great too. Very impressed guys. Their sound is pretty hard to pin down. I think that it's clear they are maturing into something much more musical and timeless while still able to perform the classics flawlessly.
I could not get over how busy it was that night at the culture room, but we snuck off upstairs and hung out at the bar for a few hours. The sound was excellent. The bands were great. Got some good video footage from up there. Sunny Day real estate. Sounded amazing! After 30 years they sound better than ever. the pool kids sound great as well. We wish them all the success in the world going forward.
