I must start by saying The Supersuckers is the band that I've seen the most in my life. I've seen them everytime they come to NYC, sung along, cheered, jumped, bought their records and their merch, and they never disappointed me until this last gig.
It's simple, to be the greatest rock n roll band in the Wolrd you have to play rock... this time Eddie and Co. played an entire set of midtempo scaled down country music, Eddie never let go of that acoustic guitar and I was dying for Marty to grab that Les Paul standing behind him. Turned out to be decoration. So much for Metal Marty...
Coming out of the theater I heard many people sharing the same feeling. You guys let your hardcore NYC fans down. Where was the overdriven ballz to the wall guitars? What happened to the kicks, jumps, and antics that made your shows so special? What happened to playing the instruments while tangled in arms, the jokes, the badassness?
