The Simon & Garfunkel Story

Since its sell-out in London's West End, The Simon & Garfunkel Story is now the World's leading theatre show concerning Simon & Garfunkel featuring a full live band and state of the art video projection and lighting. With more than 100 million album sales since 1965, Simon & Garfunkel's perfect harmonies and songs that poignantly captured the times made them one of the most successful folk-rock duos of all time. It was amazing! We enjoyed every minute!

by Flowerchyld on 3/7/22CIBC Theatre - Chicago

The Simon & Garfunkel actors had beautiful voices & their mannerisms were right on the money. The back-up band was extremely talented! Each & every song sounded exactly like the original or better. The sound quality in the theater was perfect. We absolutely loved the background scenes of the 60's & 70's. What a great show!!! Five Stars!!!

Easy check in with printed tickets & showing ID. Told outside to have them ready & there were several lines to go through. It all moved quickly.

The Simon & Garfunkel Story (Chicago)

by Chicago DAN on 3/3/22CIBC Theatre - Chicago

The guys who played/sang Simon and Garfunkel were very good. Garfunkel provided excellent harmony but couldn't, of course, the real "Art's" gorgeous voice from his youth. A very good and fun "tribute concert The backing band was very good, especially the Drummer and the Bass Guital player. BUT.... the actual story of S & G was only told in a surfacy narrative form by the two leads. No acting. No dialog. No drama!!! Unlike many of the other Jukebox musicals like "Jersey Boys" (The Four Seasons), "Beautiful" (Carole King) or even "Mamma Mia" (Abba) there was no real story. The show doesn't give one any sense of who Simon and Garfunkel are or were. NO EMOTION or HAPPINESS. To summarize.... the two lead performers performed the songs very well and sound alot like S & G and the band was good. A wonderful TRIBUTE concert.... but the musical itself was average.

    Excellent Cover Band

by GG on 3/3/22CIBC Theatre - Chicago

If you’re a fan of Simon and Garfunkel, you will love to listen to this excellent cover band. The gentleman who plays Garfunkel looks like him and has his mannerisms. The person who plays Simon does not. There are visuals up on a screen that could really be improved. Thr story was minimal. I found it a bit boring. But if you’re a huge fan I’m sure you’ll love it.

    Music just ok

by Yola on 3/3/22CIBC Theatre - Chicago

Music was just ok could have been better. Storyline was weak only provided broad timelines, repetitive pictures / videos and non- relevant pictures. Singing performances were mediocre.

    Cover Band

by Lisa on 3/2/22CIBC Theatre - Chicago

This play was not worth the $100 seats I paid for. While the musicians were talented, the price to just hear a "cover band" was OUTRAGEOUS! There was no insight given into their relationship or their musical process, just a recitation of facts, things you can read on Wikipedia. I recently saw Aint Too Proud and that was phenomenal. I guess I was just expecting too much from this show after seeing that one. In Aint Too Proud not only do you see the Temptations, but there's also the Supremes, Smokey Robinson, and insight into their lives.
