Miami HEAT History

Founded in 1988 as an expansion franchise, the Miami HEAT are one of the NBA's premier organizations, laying claim to 16 Southeast Division titles, seven Eastern Conference titles, and three NBA Championships. After hiring renowned NBA coach Pat Riley in 1995, the team won its first Championship in 2006, led by Hall of Famers Shaquille O'Neal, Dwyane Wade, Alonzo Mourning, and Gary Payton. Miami then captured back-to-back titles in 2012 and 2013 with their “Big Three” consisting of Wade, LeBron James, and Chris Bosh.

In the summer of 2019, much of the team's current core began to take shape, as the HEAT drafted guard Tyler Herro, then acquired All-Star guard Jimmy Butler to round out a roster that already featured promising big Bam Adebayo. In their current form, the team has reached the Finals twice (in 2020 and 2023).

Quality time at the heat game

by D Mac on 3/7/24Kaseya Center - Miami

Tickets and entrance to game was very smooth for myself and my daughter since we both were stricken with rare diseases around 2020, myself with IPF and my daughter at age 39 was diagnosed with Parkinson, she lives in Ga, but every 6 months she returns here to Miami for a followup at UHealth, so coming to the heat was great therapy for the both of us, we really the game and each other.

    A Bit Disappointed

by Hal on 2/13/24Kaseya Center - Miami

Too many time-outs which ruined the flow of the game. And we don’t need constant noise from the PA system during the game. We came to watch basketball which should be entertaining enough without the sideshows.
