About

Matt Rife has exploded as one of the fastest growing comedians through his viral content and remarkable engagement on TikTok, where he has amassed over 13 million followers, and more than 2 billion views globally. As one of the most buzzed about comedians in the business, Rife has been selling-out comedy clubs and theaters across the country and is gearing up to embark on his biggest tour to-date with Live Nation, the Matt Rife: ProbleMATTic World Tour, kicking off on July 20th.

Rife brings forth his refreshingly genuine presence along with elevated material that is quick witted and vulnerable. From a small town near Columbus Ohio, Matt started performing at the age of fifteen then moved out to Los Angeles two years later where he began his career in Hollywood.

In addition to stand-up, he made his television debut on MTV's Wild 'N Out as the youngest cast member in history for four seasons before moving on to other MTV properties, such as hosting the reboot of TRL and appearing on The Challenge. Other credits include Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Fresh Off The Boat, BET's North Of The 10, and NBC's comedy competition show Bring The Funny.

In 2021, Rife self-produced and distributed through YouTube his first one-hour comedy special, "Only Fans". This past April, the comedian bet on himself again and self-released his highly anticipated second stand-up special, "Matthew Steven Rife" on YouTube. The special was taped in Austin, TX and is dedicated to his biggest role model, his grandfather Steven who had recently passed. He'll be taping his third stand-up special this fall in Washington, DC.

    Greatest Comedy Show Ever

by Queen on 5/13/24Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

Handa down the most amazing experience I'll ever have. Matt definitely earned the title of the youngest comedian to headline AND SELL OUT the Hollywood Bowl. Spent the entire show laughing so hard my stomach was hurting and my eyes were crying. The mini Cordae concert was so fun. Even though there were a good amount of people around us that were too unseasoned to get up and dance or participate, me and my friend were going crazy to Kung Fu lol. The opening comedians and surprise guest were also cherries on top of the best night of my life. If u ever get the chance to go to a Matt Rife Show, DO IT!!

Matt was amazing everything else not good

by Comedyman on 5/12/24Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

So I bought a ticket to go see Matt Rife. I love his stand up and I had never seen him before. I was really excited to go see him. The show was supposed to start at 7:30pm. However, because this is Hollywood and how big Matt is I didn't expect it to start on time. Also I knew Matt would have someone open for him. So I expected Matt to come on stage between 8:30-9pm. Hopefully closer to 8:30pm. I was running late so I didn't actually get to the Hollywood Bowl until 8:30pm. Right when I though Matt was coming on. So I was a little nervous I was going to miss him. Luckily, I did not miss him. Unfortunately it would be another hour and 15 mins before he came on stage. Matt had 2 other comedians open for him. There were funny, but I was there to see Matt. Luckily by about 9pm they left the stage and I thought here comes Matt. Nope. Matt send out a rapper that I guess was a friend of his. Comedians I understand, but rap music at a comedy show? That doesn't make any sense. At least with the comedians they are doing the same thing Matt is doing. So they can get the crowd warmed up. But a rapper? I have no idea why he was there. I very much did not enjoy him. Also he went on for almost an hour. And the Hollywood Bowl has a curfew. That means they cut off artists once it gets to a certain time. No matter who it is. After the rapper left the stage we had a fourth opener. A fourth! Now this guy I didn't mind. In fact, he was one of the only good parts of the show. Gabriel Iglesias came out and said a couple jokes. He was awesome. I really wish there was just one opener and then Gabriel and then Matt. Maybe you could do the 2 comedians and then Gabriel and then Matt. The rapper was the main thing that ruined the show. As far as Matt goes. Once he came on stage he was great. I loved watching him. But by the time he came on stage there was only an hour to go before they hit the curfew. I feel like Matt wanted to stay on stage longer and tell more jokes, but because of everyone that came before him he ran out of time. Bottom line I paid to see Matt. Not a line up of random people.

    No new material

by Disappointed on 5/12/24Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

Spent half the show talking to one woman. Had no new material. Repeated previous show bits and people's reaction to that.

    Funny and Relatable!

by Jose on 5/12/24Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

Matt is a funny, charismatic and relatable comedian! He is getting so famous that I was skeptical if he will be able to relate to the audience as before but he does. Doesn’t take himself too seriously and engages with the audience very naturally. His humor is sharp and hilarious!

    Offensive and NOT funny!

by Mark on 5/12/24Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

I know this will not be a popular opinion, but Matt Rife was terrible. He’s over rated and isn’t funny at all. We had to sit through 6 support acts plus a 40 min rap performance from an artist he liked before he showed up over 2 hours after the billed start time. As it started we were blinded by the lights before anyone with some common sense found out what the issue was. Matt thought it was something else and of course turned it back on himself. Decided not to stay for the full show, because his arrogance, lack of humour and basic disrespect was enough and ticket prices were extreme. Waste of money but the actual venue was amazing. Hollywood Bowl is great for seating and sound.
