Tampa Bay Buccaneers Team History

The Buccaneers joined the NFL as an expansion team and played their first game in 1976. During the 1979 season, the Buccaneers became the first post-merger expansion team to win a division championship, a playoff game and host and play in a conference championship. They went on to win seven more division championships and captured their first Super Bowl win in 2003.

The Bucs beat the Oakland Raiders 48-21 in Super Bowl XXXVIII in Head Coach Jon Gruden's first season, making him the youngest head coach to win a Super Bowl at the time. With future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady under center, the Buccaneers went on to win their second Super Bowl title at Super Bowl LV in 2021.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium

Insiders refer to the 65,618-seat Raymond James Stadium as the NFL's “crown jewel,” thanks to massive 2016 renovations that added one of the most modern HD video systems in the league. Additionally, every time the Buccaneers score a touchdown or field goal, a pirate ship moored in Buccaneer Cove celebrates with cannon fire.

Raymond James Stadium hosted Super Bowl LV on February 7, 2021, during which the Buccaneers beat the Kansas City Chiefs 31-9. The game marked the first time in Super Bowl history that a team played a championship game on their home turf.

Had a great time starting with the tailgating on the parking lots. Choice of seating was great. And the game had everything you could wish for. Worth coming and would do it again.

A wonderful experience and awesome Game. The Tailgate Party and everything around the Game was great. Perfect Weather for Guys with German Roots in December and impressive Organization for a NFL Game

I really enjoyed my experience at Raymond James Stadium! The pirate ship cannons etc. were all part of the experience I wanted! My only complaint is not being able to find a refrigerator magnet, which is obviously a small complaint that only concerns a collector of magnets such as myself :)

Raymond James Stadium is just an “ok” venue to watch an NFL game. The team/league/stadium owner needs to improve the on-site parking and entrance into the stadium prior to games. Better signage and more informed staff would greatly improve the quality experience.

Great stadium! Great food! Really great atmosphere! Even better that the Niner left with the W!

  • Hot, but worth it!

We came to this stadium to see the San Francisco 49ers vs the Tampa Bay Bucs on Sunday 11/10/24. We got to the stadium three hours before kickoff to ensure close parking. Parking was super easy as my brother is a disabled Veteran (they still charge $75 for disabled parking which is a racket). There are multiple gates and minimal signage. We chose the gate closest to the disabled parking lot and were turned away at that entrance after standing in line for an hour because though my brother is disabled, he doesn't require stadium staff "assistance"so we had to make our way to another gate. Gates don't open until 1130am for a 1pm game which seems later than other stadiums I've been to. The concourse layout accommodates the massive crowd pretty well and there are many options for food and drinks. All extremely overpriced of course, but that's the norm in every other stadium I've been to as well. One thing I did appreciate was with the purchase of a $15 souvenir cup of soda came access to a shorter "refill station"line when you just needed a quick fill up. For seats, we sat in Section 143, Row H (on the visitors side). The seats are small and do not accommodate a 6'5"man at all. Our party of three was on top of each other during the hot/humid game. I would recommend buying an extra seat or two as a buffer especially if you don't want to be touching the person next to you the whole time. The entertainment was good. It was a hot, humid day with unrelenting sun, but the large amount of Veteran's in attendance along with the mass amount of 49er fans who turned up made it all worth it (we must travel well because I would say at least half of the stadium was 49er fans). The 49ers squeaked by with a win and we waited for some of the players to sign autographs when the game ended but since the locker room was on the opposite side of the field, most of them focused on that side. Exiting was easy to the main road. Overall, it was great experience. Not sure I'll return since I'm not a fan of the heat and I live near Santa Clara, CA - but definitely worth doing once!

  • Awesome no issue at all

by Ike W on 11/13/24Raymond James Stadium - TampaRating: 5 out of 5

Tickets were bought months ahead and there wasn’t a issue at all

  • Don’t pay for premium

by Not worth club level on 11/13/24Raymond James Stadium - TampaRating: 3 out of 5

I attend a lot of NFL games and most of the time I get Club level I have to tell you this was the most disappointing club level I’ve gotten. The club was way overpacked. The lines were very long and there was nowhere to sit if you wanted to eat due to tho Club being overpacked. I also paid for HCCPVIP parking and when I got to the parking after the line was incredibly long, they closed off the entrance and said they were at capacity they didn’t told me to go down another half mile to another entrance we’re at the entrance the people there then told me that the parking was completely booked up and there was no more spots and just to park wherever I could find a place to leave my car For paying for expensive parking I might as well just parked in someone’s yard for $20 overall my experience at Tampa Stadium was very subpar. Do yourself a favor don’t pay for club level and definitely don’t pay for expensive parking. It’s not worth it at all.

  • Watch the heat!

by ChrisM on 11/13/24Raymond James Stadium - TampaRating: 5 out of 5

Great stadium to see a game. Didn't experience any obnoxious drunks. Stay hydrated if in the sun. I had one beer and only one water, and felt unwell! Drink more water! It impacted my experience...

  • Dope Stadium

by Chris H on 10/30/24Raymond James Stadium - TampaRating: 4 out of 5

Been to a few different stadiums for NFL games. This one was dope. Concession and washroom lines are almost zero. Sight lines from our seats were incredible. Lots of fans in Bucs gear but very quiet stadium compared to Buffalo.
