  • What a performance

by Phil on 2/10/23Fisher Theatre - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

Love hearing all the original songs & seeing his appreciation for the band that have been w/ him the whole time. Enjoyed having him do a cover of Rebel Yell as well.

  • Amazing

by Shannon on 2/10/23Fisher Theatre - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

The show is phenomenal. The opening act was the icing on the cake. Fun for all ages young and old.

  • Not happy

by Not happy on 2/10/23Fisher Theatre - DetroitRating: 1 out of 5

It is my fault for not knowing it was specifically not a concert with classics. Listening to weird Al was a big deal as a kid and I never saw him perform. I didn’t expect all classics/favorites. But at least one would have been nice. Apparently his website explained this, but I didn’t think I had to research whether a concert would have any favorites played

  • Al does not disappoint

by Greg on 2/10/23Fisher Theatre - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

This show was a makeup from Spring 2022, one of a handful Al had to cancel due to Covid. Would he cancel it and give everyone a refund or come all the way back to Detroit? Well after 8 and a half months he came back and delivered a great show. The first few songs sounded like he was holding back something but around midway through he loosened up and really got into it, delivering a loud and wild show with highlights like "CNR," "Craigslist," "The Night Santa Went Crazy," "Dog Eat Dog" and "Albuquerque." The band was in great shape too, covering a wide range of genres from James Taylor-style folk to doo-wop and heavy metal. Opening act Emo Phillips was wry and funny, and got a huge ovation for his birthday. The sound in the Fisher Theater was quite good and parking was free and easy. I am really glad Al kept his commitment to the fans, and the wait was worth it. My son and I have been to 4 tours and 7 shows and Al does not disappoint his fans. Thanks Al!

Only weird al can play his most unpopular songs and still put on a great show

  • Wonderful show!

by Susan on 2/7/23Brown County Music Center - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Emo Phillips was hysterically funny. Weird Al gave one of the best concerts I’ve ever seen. We loved his stories and, of course, his music is the best. He is an amazing musician and talented singer! We loved our night out!

  • Self-Indulgent All Around

by mrschutte on 2/7/23Brown County Music Center - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

After nearly a year's delay, I finally got the chance to see Weird Al's Return of the ridiculously Self-Indulgent Vanity Tour at the Brown County Music Center. I know that the title's inclusion of the term "self-indulgent" was meant to apply to Al himself, but it more than aptly applied to my son and I as we basked in the glory of Al's "deep cut" concert. No video screens, no problem. No fat suit, not missed AT ALL. What we got was the type of concert I love, just a bunch of songs that help show the immense sense of humor that is inherent in Al's music. When Al teased that he had "two" Christmas songs, my son and I honestly couldn't guess which he would play. (In case he switches it up, we got "The Night Santa Went Crazy" instead of my guess of "Christmas At Ground Zero.") My son fan-gasmed over the extended, re-mixed version of "Albuquerque," a son we both love. (Another aside: Why hasn't Al done a shirt that simply says: "I. Hate. Sauerkraut!"?) While not short of songs, the concern left with me with the "leave them wanting more" mentality. We left singing songs and riffing on memories associated with "the ones we missed THIS time." I honestly have preferred the two "Vanity" concerts and their format far more than the last two "traditional" shows. I come to laugh, sing, and enjoy the music- not to watch the videos interviews or see the costumes. I could never see another Star Wars cosplayer on stage again and wouldn't mind. That said, I would still belt out "Yoda" forever. If you are of a similar mindset, this concert was for you.

I've listened to Weird Al for over 30 years, but had never seen him live. He may have tried to disappoint us by playing all his least popular songs, but he couldn't do it. The show was awesome! The venue was great, the band was excellent, the air smelled like warm rootbeer, and the towels were oh so fluffy! My family had a blast and when I left, my face hurt from smiling.

  • The Obscure Setlist

by Freaky Orthopedic on 2/7/23Brown County Music Center - NashvilleRating: 2 out of 5

So I busted out the credit card to buy my 13 year old son tickets to see his all-time favorite, Weird Al for his big Christmas present. The anticipation building up to the momentous evening was palpable! Once we got to our seats, my son couldn’t believe it was actually happening - HE’S ABOUT TO ACTUALLY SEE WEIRD ALL IN PERSON! Well, the show started out well. Al and his band opened with a track that only real fans would know (First World Problems). That was cool. My son appreciates it. However, as the set went on, Al and his fabulous band continued playing obscure deep track after obscure deep track. My son’s enthusiasm went down and down. At one point over halfway through the show, my son finally said, “couldn’t he play just one classic? One hit?” I thought for sure Al would eventually start kicking out some of his best known parodies, but no. It never happened. My son became more and more bummed out with each back track they pulled out. He did get some satisfaction when they finished the main set with an epic version of “Albuquerque”. Now the encore was to come. Surely he’d throw the crowd a bone and play an old favorite, right? No. We got a straight cover of Alice Cooper’s “School’s Out”. Then came what was the highlight of the night, a medley of Weird Al parodies, but still a bummer because it done lounge style! Major let down for the boy. I felt so bad for him. Towards the end of the show, he didn’t even bother clapping anymore (but that was most of the crowd, to be honest). No Another One Rides The Bus No Eat It No My Bologna No Like A Surgeon No Fat No I Love Rocky Road No Smells Like Nirvana No classics, no hits Great band - terrible set list - 2 stars

  • Greatest Show Ever

Weird Al does it again! He put on an amazing show. The opener EMO was hilarious!!

  • A+ Absurdity

by M D Campbell on 2/7/23Brown County Music Center - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

A wonderful evening's entertainment. Emo was as odd & off the wall funny as one would expect. Al was great, the band was sharp. We got to hear a few old favorites like One More Minute & some less well known bits too. The highlight for me was the insane genius of Albuquerque. Very pleased.

  • Weird Al

by Hol on 2/6/23Brown County Music Center - NashvilleRating: 1 out of 5

He did not play ANY of his old stuff, sound was bad, hard to hear his new stuff. We waited a year and a half to see him...pretty disappointed.

  • Great concert. So/so meet and greet

by Melissa on 2/6/23Brown County Music Center - NashvilleRating: 4 out of 5

Emo Phillips was hilarious and the Weird Al concert was great. We paid extra for the VIP experience and never got our exclusive details on the special events. We missed the Jeopardy game. After yhe show, there was confusion amongst the staff as to where we were supposed to go. To the coat check, no back to your seats, no to the cost check, no back to your seats. Everyone move to the left of the auditorium. Al had a sore throat so we took pictures and got autographs on the other side of a plastic curtain while another guy would speak for us to Al.

  • Another Great Weird Al Performance!

by Kristi Ohlervic on 2/6/23Brown County Music Center - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

As a long time fan of Weird Al, I completely enjoyed this tour and hope he continues to rotate this type of tour again. It's great to hear the originals and the different way he performs some of his greatest hits. Really showcases the talent of Al and his entire band.

  • Maybe be time to retire…

by Debi on 2/6/23Brown County Music Center - NashvilleRating: 2 out of 5

Soooooooo disappointing. I saw Weird Al before Covid at White River in Indy. He was amazing. Active..running around on stage, costume changes, cool video clips of all the things he has done in his career. It was an awesome show. Fast forward to 2023…and the show was awful. Low energy and he didn’t play Eat It or other big hits. He sat on a stool for 90 minutes. It was just not him. He’s not that old but he sure acted like it. As a big fan, I was really disappointed. I brought my teenage kids because I thought they would enjoy it. Now I’m the laughing stock of the family. They want to take me to a Bo Burnham concert to show me a great performance. I was so disappointed in this show. It may be time for Weird Al to retire……

  • Weird Al sings his unpopular songs

by Ron on 2/6/23Brown County Music Center - NashvilleRating: 1 out of 5

We were very disappointed that Al didn't sing any of his many, many great songs. He even said so at the start that he was going to sing his deeply unpopular songs. Well he did. He did a few of the popular songs in a medly with different tunes as part of the encore. We've been to three of four Weird Al's concerts and loved them all except this one. Won't go to anymore unless he calls it his greatest hits tour.

  • Really, Really Weird

Loved the show. So glad they added this Kalamazoo show. This was my fourth time seeing him in Michigan. Come back soon, Weird!!!

  • Weird Al

Great show! Great venue… I much prefer the smaller, more intimate venue experience.

  • Fun night of music

by Splat on 2/6/23Kalamazoo State Theatre - KalamazooRating: 5 out of 5

The 4 pc band with Al was fabulous, all excellent musicians along with Al on accordion in a relaxed setting. Everyone on stage was sitting, letting the music be the focus. A night of deep cuts musically, if you own the albums its the songs that you listen to, not the ones that you hear on the radio. Being a long time fan, I really enjoyed it
