  • Ben Vereen continues to be a spectacular performer

I have seen Ben Vereen quite a few times over the years - in New York and in concerts. He is ALWAYS professional and does not leave anything undone. He connects with the audience in a very intimate way - and this matinee was no exception.

Ben is still a very talented entertainer. His performance was memorable.

  • Awesome event!!

Ben as always was fun, energetic, still in good voice, great songs. His guest artist Vaune Suitt was fabulous! What a beautiful, poised young woman with a great stage presence, voice and talent. Look forward to seeing her again sometime. The dancers were wonderful as well as his own backup musicians! It was truly a lovely evening of talent, fun and spending time with Ben. His remarks about keeping the Arts alive so spot on. He obviously has a soft spot for the University of Arizona, up and coming talent and that made it even more fun for my spouse and I.

  • Charming but the veneer is off

I was thinking the hoofer in him would still be there, he was personable with the audience but it wasn't the show I expected, left at intermission

  • Amazing!

I can't begin to describe what an amazing talent Ben Vereen is. H doesn't sing songs. He acts them with total immersion into the character. Transforming himself from an old man to a young man(and back) during the course of a song from Les Miserable. Because of recent back surgery he wasn't supposed to dance but he could still move. You could tell there was a great dancer up there just itching to bust out. Students from the university of Arizona did several fabulous dance routines. My only dislike was he did quite a bit of discussion about budget cutting for the arts. I don't pay $75 a ticket to heat a political harangue.

  • Steppin' Out With Ben Vereen

by Anonymous on 2/17/16Aventura Arts & Cultural Center - AventuraRating: 5 out of 5

Fabulous evening with the iconic Ben Vereen! Ben made everyone in the theater feel like he was connecting directly to them. He went into the audience and worked the room, sharred handshakes, hugs, kisses, and gave out roses for Valentines Day. We brought along another couple as our guests and they were thrilled to attend. The show was presented in segments that flowed seamlessly from one section to the next. The man is still a triple threat and he still has it. He can move, sing and act. It doesn't get any better than our evening with Ben Vereen.

  • He still has it!!!

The was the best show I saw all year! What a talent in every way. Fantastic!

  • Dynamic, Exciting, Passionate

by JBonLI on 2/17/16Aventura Arts & Cultural Center - AventuraRating: 5 out of 5

Ben Vereen puts on a show for the ages! He was on stage for almost two hours without an intermission and was absolutely terrific. He does a retrospective of his career and honors the work and his relationships with Sammy Davis Jr. and Frank Sinatra, among others. His entire show is presented with good humor, passion, compassion and joy! He invites the audience to be involved with his passion and with their own lives. And boy, can he sing. Did not expect that he would still be as good as the first time I saw him almost forty years ago, but he was. If you have the opportunity, DO NOT MISS THIS SHOW!

  • Truly a life-altering experience!

by MissCavatica on 12/19/14Capitol Theatre - ClearwaterRating: 5 out of 5

Last night I saw Ben Vereen at the beautifully restored Capitol Theatre in Clearwater, Florida, and there are no words to capture his absolutely amazing performance. The high point for me was "Life Is Just a Bowl of Cherries" (Life is mysterious/Don't take it serious), as well as the story that he told of recovering from serious injuries sustained in a car accident years ago. The doctors said that he would never perform again, but thankfully, he proved them wrong! His story had a larger point, though. If there's anyone in the audience who is feeling hopeless, he said, take heart in my story of recovery. There is always hope! He connected directly with me because during the last ten years, I've lost my entire family, and at times, I've felt that there is no hope for me. His performance literally rejuvenated me (and I had come from out of state to attend the show). Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Ben Vereen!
