BONEY JAMES IN CONCERT:
Legendary sax man Boney James is a model of stamina and endurance, consistently wowing fans with his nonpareil virtuosity and herculean performances. Taking the stage with his trusty Selmer Mark VI saxophone, James eschews the placidity of smooth jazz in favor of a bombastic playing style, and whether he's leading call and response with his band or tearing through an epic solo he never fails to bring the house down. Billboard named him their No. 3 Contemporary Jazz Artist of the Decade, and fans lucky enough to catch him on his upcoming tour will be left with no questions as to why. Ā
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Massachusetts-born James Oppenheim, a.k.a. Boney James, began playing clarinet at age eight, switching to saxophone two years later. In his teens, he was introduced to Motown and jazz saxophonist Grover Washington Jr., leading him to join a fusion band when his family moved him to Los Angeles at age 14. Following stints as a session player for acts like the Isley Brothers and Teena Marie and a featured role playing in Morris Day's band, James released his solo debut album Trust in 1992. Since then, he has released more than a dozen albums, selling more than three million records worldwide and earning a number of accolades including a Soul Train Award and two NAACP Image Awards. Back on the road, Ā he'll draw from his decade-spanning catalog to deliver fans an unforgettable night of virtuoso sax playing.
FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:
"Unbelievable! A non-stop wonderful show for almost 2 hours. Boney seems almost unreal in how long he can hold a note. Don't miss this!"
"Boney James is a great performer. He came off of the stage and danced with the audience, and he played to both sides of the stage. He sounded great and his band was fantastic."
"Boney James did what Boney does. He rocked the place. Great concert. Would go again next week if they played."

Boney and his team were awesome!! It takes a lot to appeal to an audience with just instruments-no opening act, no dancers, etc. The show was epic
I thought a slow start, 2 songs with the same rhythm, but probably the warm up because they soared from there. Would have been nice to have some live vocals in the mix. Overall, not disappointed! One more thing off my bucket list.
What an accomplished musician. Very tight group! A must see !!
We absolutely loved it! Boney came out on fire š„! Boney and the entire band are amazing. They never disappoint. Love it!

Boney DID NOT disappoint! He still got it and the show was Awesome!!! Best Motherās Day gift to myself. I had a ball by myself. The Majestic Theatre is a very intimate venue. Still beautiful and accessible. My favorite venue in the DFW area. Again , Boney you gave it to emā šš¾šš¾šš¾ā¦š
Boney James was magnificent. With his 4-member band, he kept the audience visibly dancing in their seats to the tunes of his engaging style. This being my first time to watch/listen live on stage, it was a fantastic birthday gift from my beautiful wife. Totally enjoyed every minute of it. Highly recommend going to a Boney James concert anytime.
We went to see Boney James on Mother's Day 2024..All I have to say is, like the younger generation says He ate that Saxophoneš·up and left NO crumbs. It was phenomenal!! Best concert I've ever been to in years!! The only problem is, it should have lasted at least another hour!!Plus he did not play my favorite song Drumline! I will go see him again and again. Great job!!š¶š·šµ
Thereās something truly special about live music experiences, especially when itās from an artist as talented as Boney Jame. Boney James paying tribute to Grover Washington Jr was a powerful and moving moment during the concert. Tributes like that often capture the essence and spirit of the original artist while allowing the performer to add their unique touch. It was a memorable and soulful moment.
