Venue was great, Sound was Terrible
by Dani P on 12/17/248 Seconds Saloon - IndianapolisRating: 2 out of 5I really like 8 Seconds as a Venue. There's plenty of space, easy access to bars & restrooms, fun layout, tons of parking, and friendly staff. The issue is the sound. The background noise overtook everything - the vocals and the actual music. I know this artist very well and I struggled to know what songs he was even playing, let alone hear any of the vocals. I love live music, so I am fully aware of how loud concerts are, but this was Ear-Piercingly loud -in a way I haven't experienced at any other venue I've been to, tiny to large, Indoor to Outdoor. I am genuinely surprised that the sound team for the artist, or the venue staff, didn't notice this right away and make adjustments. If 8 Seconds is going to successfully moonlight as a concert venue, this portion is probably one of the most important. The point of seeing an artist live is to hear their music and vocals in their true form, and I don't even feel like I got to see David Nail. Extremely sad about this and genuinely struggling to purchase tickets to the next artists playing here that I want to see. I do want to note that the opener, Jacob Tolliver, had great sound - truly enjoyed hearing him live - so I was really sad that the main show turned out the way it did. PLEASE look into better speaker placement, echo absorbtion options, and sound staff that walk around the venue to ensure the sound is good all around, rather than just the sound booth that is strategically placed in the only area that likely had good sound.
