DEATH GRIPS IN CONCERT:
Death Grips bring a punk rock fury to the usually laid back grooves of hip hop, create a chaotic and riveting stage show with their manic energy and wild-eyed stage presence. Rapper Stefan Burnett (AKA MC Ride) embodies the group’s take-no-prisoners mentality, assuming a relentless and shirtless persona that combines the best onstage characteristics of Iggy Pop and Eazy-E. Drummer Zach Hill unleashes unorthodox Gene Krupa-esque beats with an avant-garde bent and relentless drive. On top of his frantic and erratic movements, producer Andy Morin increases the foreboding fracas on stage by layering lo-fi synthesizers and off-kilter sound collages. As they wreak havoc on their 2015 North American tour, Death Grips are sure to thrill ticket buyers seeking an extreme concert experience.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Death Grips was founded in 2010 by Sacramento, CA natives Stefan Burnett (AKA MC Ride), Zach Hill, and Andy Morin. During their wildly energetic early live shows, the experimental hip hop trio gave out free demos to help promote the band. The tactic paid off, as the group caught the attention of Epic Records in 2012. That same year the group released their first two full-length albums The Money Store and No Love Deep Web. Ini 2014 Death Grips announced the double album The Powers That B, but one month later they cancelled all scheduled dates and broke up. Footage of the group rehearsing new material in early 2015 had fans hoping that the breakup would be short-lived, and the band confirmed these suspicions by announcing several live dates and releasing The Powers That B in 2015. Reunited, the group continues to offer a high-concept, high-energy spin on the world of hip hop.

I’m not sure how to describe what happened to me tonight to the outsider looking in but it was one of the most energetic and downright entertaining shows i’ve ever been to and i’ve seen quite a few. Will be back again if called upon, SO MUCH FUN!
Best concert I've been to bar none. MC Ride's vocals were on point and Zach's drumming was energetic and never skipped a beat. If you're a Death Grips fan you're eating good.
Everything about this concert was amazing! The entry to the venue was fast and easy. The performance was sooo insane. Ride had so much energy from start to finish. The fans too were amazing people as well. The Death Grips community might just be the best fanbase for any artist! I can't wait to see them again in the future!!!
From the moment Death Grips went on stage they were pure energy. They didn't stop playing the whole time they were on stage either! I would've liked it if they had played a little longer, but what I got was unforgettable.
Won trivia to get early entry to the venue, got up front for the pit, and Death Grips killed it as always.
They really are that great. Nonstop performing with no breaks, no backup vocals and consistent performing. Zach Hill really is that good of a performer and I’m not kidding. He’s easily the reason I enjoyed it the most. MC Ride is great too and as the main man of the group, he gave his all and it really shows. Andy Morin too was great as a whole and adding so much flare to the performance. I’d see them again if I had the chance.
my first time moshing and it was so fun. death grips was really cool
Exciting band, full of hardcore energy, in a great venue!!
Awesome performances, lots of songs from Money Store but played bangers from each album. Absolutely high energy from ride and the crowd. Best concert i’ve ever been to
The trio walked onto the stage, played banger after banger (29 in a row) and left. There were no breaks. There was no talking. There was no fat, just the juiciest fillet mignon you’ve ever had. Amazing.
was my first concert and it was sick high energy from them and the crowd the whole performance songs sounded amazing live
No matter how good the audio engineers work the venue acoustics doesn’t help to the overall results. I’ve attended 3 shows at The-Anthem already and my concern is the same; the reverb (echoes) ends in a massive saturated sound.
Got worked out in the moshpit for and hour and a half. Felt like a simulation of hell, 10/10
The hit band death grips was truly awe inspiring. One of the concerts of all time.
The show was everything I thought it could be; Ticketmaster, Anthem, Death Grips, my friend giving us a ride, and everything that went right in the world that day--made it all possible. The trip almost didn't happen, and this is the only concert or band I have any desperate desire to see. Thank you for making it easy to obtain a ticket! Even the doors vs. start time were both accurate. The sound was amazing, the venue staff were helpful, even down to the valet guys. The crowd was expectedly pumped and nearly out of control, but also very reasonable with each other, all things considered. And what a beautiful to see my first Death Grips show. Been a fan for many years, and didn't know if this moment would ever come. I had faith, though--faith in the Grips!
maaan best concert i've ever been to. no filler, just music from start to finish. fire emoji fam.
dark and right to the point. hour and half set and little time in between songs. pretty fun
Got elbowed in the face in the pit. However, I believe it was accidental. MC Ride brought incredible energy as always. Great show
I liked the songs so much that I started singing and dancing :)
