For gospel singer and preacher Donnie McClurkin, music and spreading the word of God are one and the same. His concerts mix gospel standards, stirring originals, impromptu medleys, covers of secular hits and joyful discussions about the power of faith. McClurkin’s style is smooth and sophisticated, but he can still get crowds amped up with his genuine passion and unwavering devotion. It makes for a celebratory live experience, which was perfectly captured on his most recent album, the 2008 live recording We Are All One, which led to the single “Wait On The Lord.” McClurkin’s devotion is also evident in his weekly television show, Perfecting Your Faith.
Music and religion were also the two forces that helped save McClurkin from a childhood filled with trials. He joined his church choir at a young age and was soon doing backup vocals for gospel legend Andraé Crouch. In 1989, he was hired as an associate minister at Detroit’s Perfecting Church, working under another gospel star, Marvin Winans of The Winans Family. McClurkin released his self-titled debut album in 1996, and buoyed by popular single “Stand” and a plug from Oprah Winfrey, the album went gold. He sold tickets around the world, and his UK-recorded live album, 2000’s Live In London and More went double platinum. Its followup, Psalms, Hymns & Spiritual Songs, also went double platinum and earned McClurkin his first of three Grammy Awards. He also earned 10 Stellar Awards, two BET Awards, two Soul Train Awards and one NAACP Image Award. When McClurkin is not touring around the country, he shares his devotion preaching as the senior pastor of the Perfecting Faith Church in Freeport, New York and on the television show Perfecting Your Faith.

I Was Very Excited About The Mother's Day Celebration Gospel Concert But Left Dissatisfied... The Sound Was Terrible... It Was An Echo Coming From The Speaker.... Even Ricky Dillard & Donnie Mcclurkin Was Complaining.. If This Sound Isssues Isn't Corrected With Newer Equipment; The Hampton Coliseum Will Not Have A Great Turnout...
Every artist in this concert was wonderful. Their gifts and anointing were shared joyfully with skilled precision. The Clark Sisters are timeless and still amazing (GOAT's). Ricky Dillard never tires of praising and makes everyone want to join in. His choir is fabulous with matchless vocals and dynamics. Donnie McClurkin is such an excellent vocalist but an even better worshipper. He even managed to fit in an altar call. And "WHEW", she was last, but well worth the wait, Tasha Cobbs Leonard was outstanding, anointed, and powerful. She sang with vocal brilliance, but she ministered, encouraged and pulled our focus to the awesomeness of God. She's amazing! We attended this concert in memory of our mother (Our riding partner) She would have loved this one. I know she would have danced with us,
Great seats. Kingdom worshippers; just like church
All of the performances were great.. I just didn’t like the acoustics..
Awesome worship experience, me and my mother really enjoyed ourselves. I would definitely go see them again.
The Gospel l concert was an amazing experience that everyone should experience.
Great experience had by all in attendance. Great performance!
I beleve the headliner should have the longest set; this did not seem to be the case. One choir was late and came out last, but this was not announced and people started leaving, after the headliner, only to go back in once they heard singing. This could have been handled better.
The concert was wonderful, all the artists did their thing... I believe the volume was up way tooooo loud for Ricky Dillard, so you could not understand anything he was singing or saying... It appeared to be turned down for the other artist and things were clearer... Other than that, the entire concert was a blessing to sooo many... I love the fact that it wasn't all about the singing, but bringing people to GOD... Praise & Worship...
