  • Good event, terrible venue

Final X was kinda long - I was there for 8 hours. Some unnecessary filler and long intermissions but the wrestling was world class and many very competitive matches. Enjoyed watching all the matches of USA's elite wrestlers. The Prudential Center, however was a terrible venue. 1. Difficult to get to b/c police has blocked nearby roads for construction and repaving. Did they not know an event with 9k people was happening? 2. Could not get a cab to the event, had to get an Uber instead. 3. Tried to get a cab back from the nearby Penn Station back to the Newark airport hotel I was staying. ALL the cabs said they would only take cash, no credit cards - Really!! In this day and age only take cash - something fishy there. Finally took an unregistered car service back to the hotel for $23 including tip. The cabbies want $30 cash. 3. That part of Newark is not great -few restaurants or hotels and you want to get out of that part of town before too late. 4. It's NJ so everything is overpriced and crowded. 5. The Pru center only had limited refreshment stands open so you had to stand in line and wait to purchase the overpriced food/snacks.

Great seat, well organized, and enthusiastic crowd. Best wrestlers in the world and great competition. I really enjoyed it.

The matches were exciting, some upsets, even expected wins were exciting. David Taylor and Aaron Brooks, how can you go wrong. Sad to Burroughs lose but what great matches. Besides Mason Paris who was not happy to see Gable Steveson back!

  • Epic matches, venue…?

Loved the Final X Event… this was my 2nd. Great format to have all 3 disciplines happening at once, though tough to focus if all 3 mats had were key match ups. Loved the True 3Rd matches as well. The Prudential Center Venue was great for viewing matches and convenient to get to, however the rule of “no re-entry “ on a 9-10 hour event was difficult. Food selection was extremely limited and those with Allergies and dietary restrictions had no options and no outside food allowed. Would have been nice to have coffee available to purchase even at one booth.

  • Great wrestling, blah venue

Most importantly, the wrestling, and the presentation by Tezos was great. It was a super super long day, but I understand the wrestlers need a break too. The hour and a half intermission, along with some of the presentations made the day too long. No matter how entertaining the wrestling, it’s tough to sit in that chair for eight hours with kids. Half of the facility was not even opened. To be honest I’m not a health nut , but all you could really get was deep fried food and ice cream. I would say over half of the concessions were closed with extremely limited options for everyone, considering it was going to be an eight hour day. It was kind of weird, it was like they did the bare minimum for the fans. I think even the two T-shirt tables had barely any product. Again, the wrestling was terrific, it’s just the venue and logistics were really subpar. Before the naysayers go on that it’s not the NHL or NBA, I understand that. With that in mind, proportionately with the revenue generated although far less than a major sports team, they still could’ve done better for all of those fans , both children and adults.
