About

Fujii Kaze is a rising singer-songwriter from Japan. He started practicing classical piano when he was little after being influenced by his father. Since he was 12, Kaze uploaded piano covers of popular songs on YouTube, which eventually caught the music industry's attention and led him to make a label deal.

In May 2020, Kaze released his first album "HELP EVER HURT NEVER" with a message not to hurt anyone but just help, while the world was right in the middle of the pandemic. It reached No. 1 on Billboard Japan's Hot Album chart and got numerous prestigious awards in Japan. He was selected as YouTube Japan's first Artist On The Rise and picked for Spotify's global program, RADAR.

In September 2021, he hosted an aspirational event titled Fujii Kaze "Free" Live 2021 at NISSAN stadium. Hoping to free up people's minds through his music, Kaze performed just by himself only with a grand piano at the 70,000-capacity stadium without any audience due to Japan's state of emergency in response to the spread of COVID-19. It was livestreamed globally on YouTube and reached over 179,000 peak concurrent views. The event ended up becoming the world's No. 1 trending topic on Twitter.

In March 2022, Kaze released his second album "LOVE ALL SERVE ALL". The title is a phrase that he cherishes, which also aligns with the title of his first album. Again, the album reached No. 1 on Billboard Japan's Hot Album chart and got numerous prestigious awards.

In July 2022, "Shinunoga E-Wa" from his first album went viral in Thailand. With that, the song reached #4 on Spotify's Global Viral chart, and reached #1 on the platform's local viral charts in 23 countries including Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Korea, UK, France, Canada, Brazil and Egypt and reached #2 in the US.

In October 2022, he held a stadium show "LOVE ALL SERVE ALL STADIUM LIVE" at Panasonic Stadium Suita in Osaka, this time in front of a live audience and completely sold out at 70,000-capacity. The show is now available on Netflix globally.

From June to July 2023, he held his first 7-city, 11-show tour of Asia, with all shows sold out.

He’s one of the greatest singers of all time! Fujii Kaze x Piano x Apollo theatre was such a good combination, the sound of piano echoes in this historic venue beautifully. Such a magical night, would definitely love to go back if he ever has concerts at Apollo or any other place in New York!

  • Fujii Kaze is the best

by Kei Yoshi on 7/2/24The Apollo's Historic Theater - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

This concert was a live performance that vividly showcased his evolution. Even compared to his recent Asia tour, his vocal expressiveness seemed to have significantly improved. And the piano. It was the first time I was truly made aware that he was a pianist after all. Moreover, despite the unprecedented trouble of the digital piano falling, the show continued. Truly, "The show must go on."This proves that he is a true entertainer. At the same time, his adorable character showed, making it one of the most memorable shows for me as his fans. Although it has been a month since the live performance took place, I still haven’t gotten over the excitement. I am filled with joy knowing that I can continue to see Fujii Kaze, who never stops evolving.

  • Welcome to NYC Kaze san!!

by EA on 6/8/24Rating: 5 out of 5

I was excited to see Fujii Kaze up close in the Apollo theater. I was a fan from watching him play piano covers on YouTube so I loved hearing him play old jazz or theme songs especially. It’s amazing his depth of music references that even I don’t know as someone who loves 70s or 80s era music. Though I was secretly hoping he’d play some Billy Joel like New York State of Mind, but then I think it’s not really his style to do something too obvious and the Arthur theme was already a NYC shoutout song. Anyway thanks Fujii Kaze, please come back to the US again!

He should have really understood what the Apollo Theater meant. It was the embodiment of his feeling that not only a little tension and his homely, but also everything that happened was meaningful. For Fujii Kaze and his team, this stage is just the start of his life as a world entertainer. New York has already found out that he is an intermediary who leads the world to something wonderful.
