  • "The Mothership Connection"is running low on Fuel!

by BluesMan on 2/12/25House of Blues Chicago - ChicagoRating: 2 out of 5

Like all of the George Clinton fans who bought tickets to see him at the Chicago House of Blues, I was excited to get my tickets. Parliment/Funkadelic/George Clinton always puts on a good funk concert, but something was missing this time. Maybe it was the energy that Clinton usually exudes with the other band members performances? Maybe it was Clinton (well over 80 years old) who decided to "mail it in"this time, choosing to sit down most of the concert while other singers took over? Maybe it was the songs list that did not deviate from the song list from the last time they played in the Chicago area? I've always been a die-hard Parliment/Funkadelic fan, starting way back in the early '70s. But after attending this concert I'm afraid that the Mothership Connection is almost completey out of fuel. I hope I'm wrong, but if I'm not it was indeed a good ride!

  • I will love this man forever!

by Aj on 2/10/25Sound Board at MotorCity Casino Hotel - DetroitRating: 4 out of 5

I enjoyed the show. George was up moving and grooving. As a whole...It did seems like an introduction to the new Clinton Klan. They performed 80% of the show. Different genres and not the best vocals lol, but their stage presence was everything lol, especially the background singers - the glitter lady and the gentleman with locks and black leather pants. It was cool but boy I would have loved for George to sing his songs more instead of the Klan. The music seemed too loud to hear them clearly. All in all, it was fun, the crowd was fun and I can't wait to see him again!!

Largest on stage group I’ve ever seen. Some were just hanging out. Some incredible individual performances. Played most of my favorites

  • Just brilliant!

by JH on 2/9/25Sound Board at MotorCity Casino Hotel - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

Funk, jazz, fusion, skat, rock, everything. Brilliant show, amazingly entertaining, and fun beyond belief. George Clinton may be old now but with fifteen + very talented people on stage playing every kind of instrument, dancing and just hanging out it’s simply beside the point. Wow!
