Watching Harry Potter again but with real live music was incredible. All I can say is "WOW". The KSO is incredible and the blend of movie and orchestra is incredible. It is a "must do".
The performance was fantastic. The music complimented the movie seamlessly. The only negative for the entire event is that the A/C was not functioning properly at the Knoxville Civic Auditorium and it was uncomfortably hot in the balcony. When I asked two different employees, they both said they had had the same problem the day before.
The magic of Harry Potter coupled with the live symphony was so much fun! Our party of adults and kids all thoroughly enjoyed it.
one of the most unique experiences! we had a great time!
This was our first time at an event like this. We are looking forward to the next time as we will certainly be attending. What a wonderful event.
Symphony was fabulous and the movie was great to see. Unfortunately the audience was told to make lots of noise and the person in front of me insisted it was ok to open her phone all the time and take selfies. Made it hard to keep in the movie experience. I will not go to next one.
Our family enjoyed this so much because we are Harry Potter fans and fans of the KSO as well. We know some of the symphony musicians which makes it more special!! This combination is just so delightful for an evening out!!
Our seats were good, the orchestra was great! The movie had subtitles which also helped if you were having any trouble hearing any of it although the balance of the sound in the movie against the orchestra's music was very good. Our grandchildren haven't had much experience with orchestras so this was the perfect event for them because they love Harry Potter! The only downside to the event was that there were extremely long lines to get concessions at intermission which meant the kids didn't get a chance to get anything. Great experience!
The movie, symphony, and crowd were excellent. The John Williams score was enhanced by this type of performance. Unfortunately, either the air conditioning was broken, not used, or insufficient. It was only the 3rd of May, but the venue could have doubled as a sauna, and that was before the movie even started. The heat kept increasing. A number of people left (which I presume was due to the temperature), some even before Intermission. The lack of legroom made the viewing uncomfortable, even for people less than 6 feet tall. I recommend the event, but not the venue.
The good: the symphony was amazing! Wonderful to hear the music live. The bad: There should've been more than one screen to watch the movie. And it was UNBEARABLY HOT to the point we left at intermission because it was just miserable. $400- down the drain.
