HEALTH IN CONCERT:


For the past decade, LA-based experimental noise rock outfit HEALTH has been an unstoppable force of mind-blowing sonic creativity and wild-eyed showmanship. The band's live performances are an exercise in tightly controlled chaos, treating ticket buyers to a blistering onslaught of distorted guitars, pulse-pounding drums, and mangled electronic textures punctuated by moments of mesmerizing melodic beauty. From the jagged riffs and visceral tribal drumming of "Crimewave" to the piercing electronics and ethereal vocals of "Die Slow", Health always takes ticket buyers on a sonic journey brimming with energy, experimentation, and adrenaline-fueled showmanship.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

HEALTH formed in 2006 amid the fertile DIY punk and noise scene of legendary Downtown LA venue The Smell. They released their self-titled debut album on Lovepump United in 2007, quickly receiving a boost when popular synthpunk band Crystal Castles remixed their song "Crimewave". HEALTH built a reputation with their decibel-shattering live shows, and in 2008 they were tapped by Nine Inch Nails as an opening act on their Lights in the Sky farewell tour. Following five months on the road with NIN, HEALTH returned to LA and released their sophomore album Get Color to widespread critical acclaim. They followed up in 2010 with the remix album Health::Disco2, and in 2012 they surprised fans when they composed the soundtrack for the video game Max Payne 3. In 2015 HEALTH thrilled fans with the announcement of a European tour with Interpol, where they'll preview material from their highly anticipated third album.

Over the course of their career, HEALTH have packed venues such as Irving Plaza and Plaza Live.

    King Yosef, Pixel Grip and HEALTHwas possibly the most Godlike music experience i have ever had. Complete insanity, but the community and fans are welcoming and very respectful. I love every aspect of this show and the Belasco venue was beautiful. I felt like Blade was going to show up lol.

    HEALTH has a super unique sound and very good songs, BUT they didn’t play some of what I perceive to be their best tracks. Maybe it has to do with license stuff. Great lighting and theatrics

    Seeing King yosef start up the stage was a great beginning as we venture through the merch line, then pixel grip took over and changed the vibe to be more hype. During which I got a hug from Johnny and then he signed my records! Only to go on stage soon after and unleash the noise! Super fun show and very invigorating and inspiring!

    Got tickets for HEALTH but walked away a new fan of Pixel Grip. Incredible energy and performance from them, loads of fun and will try to see them again for sure. Great vibe. King Yosef was cool as hell. Not my favorite genre or style but he was a very good opener and it’s rad that he is totally independent. Visibility at the venue could have been better but the crowd had a very good vibe and HEALTH plays immaculately. Industrial needs discipline to avoid becoming a wall of noise but their timing and setup are so precise it makes for a super fun ride. Will definitely see them all again.

    HEALTH was awesome! Love their sound. Lead singers voice reminds me of an 80's band. Can't wait to see them again. And The Underground is a cool venue!!

    Watching them perform live was an awesome experience, such intense an energy when they played, would definitely go to their next show, one of those bands you just have to catch live every time they're in town. Just wow!
