Houston Texans Team History
Established in 1999 as Houston’s second NFL franchise (after the Oilers moved and became the Titans), the Houston Texans did not participate in their first official NFL season until 2002. In their first home opener, the Texans beat the Dallas Cowboys 19-10, becoming the first NFL expansion team to win their opening game since the Vikings beat the Bears in 1961.
The Texans secured their first big win as the AFC South champions in 2011 and clinched their first berth into the playoffs. They have since secured the title five more times, in 2012, 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2019.

Amazing experience! It was my first NFL game, and what a game, what a stadium! Easy to come, to entry and to leave. Lots of food and beverages options. Everything was nice!
My day turned from a disaster to a great day thanks to an usher from the stadium. My son has autism and was reluctant to go to our seats. We were offer seats with less people and this man helped us coach are son to sit and enjoy the game. Wonderful staff and everyone in the stadium was very pleasant and friendly. Cant wait to go again. All staff were great but especially this one usher. Thank you to the entire Houston Texans organization for making this day memorable. Plus the Texans won with .28 seconds on the clock.
Had a great time with friends. Scored some good tickets on TM. It was a close, stressful game, but Texans winning in the last minute made our experience Epic. Can't wait to return! #RgvTexans 🤘
Buffet was okay but seats were great. Great view and enjoyed the Texan fan company. Wonderful atmosphere.
It was very easy purchase the tickets. The way check in is go easy on your phone. The game was awesome. It was very easy in & out quickly from the arena.
The seats and the event were amazing. Everything went perfectly. Houston clobbered Cleveland and the game could not have been any better.
From the transfer, to pulling up to show tickets, the whole process was easy.
Long lines more men’s bathrooms. They should add porta-potties outside on the ramps when they know there is a sellout. Otherwise great fun!
Great! Marvelous! I am a faithful fan! Love that Stroud!!!
Great stadium! I was sitting in section 611 for the playoff game (Browns vs Texans) and had a great view of the entire field. The scoreboard are huge.
everything about my first time at nrg exceeded expectations! employees were kind, helpful, and phenomenal. many food options. great drink selections. music selection and time it was playing was perfect. loved how the club section is set up. it also helped that the texans won a big game. best stadium i have visited so far.
I’ve been to many games, and this was the best played by the Texans! We won on all aspects of the game
Great experience! Great stadium! Houston has great enthusiasm for its team. Love CJ Stroud and his love for Jesus!!!
The Texans playoff game was an incredible game. It was well worth the money to go. The food and drink costs are pretty high but overall the atmosphere was amazing and had a great time.
Every thing and almost everyone was great. The fans for both teams were awesome. Great atmosphere. The only issue I had personally was the usher at the top of my section was kinds rude as I was leaving and instead of saying thank you for coming to the game like I have become accustomed to at road parks from the employees. She was like goodbye in a rude and rubbing in the beating the team I root for just took. Not what I expected from an employee to say the least. I know they are fans of the team too, but as an employee of the team be professional. Everyone was on Christmas Eve when I went down for the game. Kind of expected the same when they won too.
From planning. Start to finish. Everything went well. Especially with the win!
I thoroughly enjoyed watching the game yesterday. The excitement of the crowd, the energy of the players, and the overall atmosphere of the stadium made it an unforgettable experience for me.
I knew that I had to cheer the team for the titan game. I had a great seat.
NRG stadium is a great venue to watch a game and the ticket process was seamless.
