Indianapolis Colts Team History

The Indianapolis Colts (previously known as the Baltimore Colts) secured their first winning record in 1957. This led to back-to-back championships for the team, earning them the  status as one of the "greatest pro football teams of all time" by 1968.

Since moving to Indianapolis in 1984, the Colts have appeared in the Super Bowl twice, winning Super Bowl LXI in 2007 led by quarterback Peyton Manning. Manning, a Colts Ring of Honor inductee, currently holds the franchise’s record for most career yards passing. Since 2013, the Colts have made it to the playoffs eight times.

I brought my 4year old daughter and my 2 year old son for their first NFL game at Lucas Oil. We drove from Chicago and had a great day. From the easy trip into the stadium, to our seats and to the bathroom (many trips) everything was great. The food was great! We had a wonderful day and a great experience!!!

  • Jacksonville lost

by coltssupporter on 9/14/09Lucas Oil Stadium - IndianapolisRating: 3 out of 5

Despite some really good plays and exciting moments, my over all feeling is that Jacksonville lost the game, rather than the Colts taking charge and winning the game, as they should have.

  • Too close for comfort

by Coltsfreek on 9/14/09Lucas Oil Stadium - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Beautiful day for a football game...wish the stadium was "open air", but the open roof will do. A little hot in the second half, but by that time, the sun was beating down on the Jags sideline... Great seats, great atmosphere, the crowd was in it...I think the 'D' really feeds off the noise. Great to see the defense win a game for us

  • Indianapolis Colts Home Opener was great

    by chopper1517 on 9/14/09Lucas Oil Stadium - IndianapolisRating: 4 out of 5

The seats were great, but a little pricey. I guess that's the price they put on being a fan these days. I will still try to get more tickets for future game though.

  • LOVE THE COLTS

by nutso on 9/3/09Cots vs Eagles pre-game - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Went to my first Lucas Oil Stadium football game and it was fantastic. Seats were a little high up but not bad. Have a request....could they please play different music instead of that stupid rap junk. I don't go to watch girls shake their bodies. They are not cheer leaders, they are close to strippers. Do not care for the filthy dancing.....

  • Great game!!

by annieorq on 8/23/09Lucas Oil Stadium - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Great game, great stadium, great value for the seats. The stadium is really great and you can see the game perfectly almost from any part of the stadium. I was only a little bit disappointed that there is no way of getting an autograph from the Colts before or after the game, as I traveled all the way to Indianapolis from Monterrey, Mexico to see the game and I was hoping to see them up close like in some other stadiums you can see the players before the game at their arrival.

by HippoNadia on 8/21/09Lucas Oil Stadium - IndianapolisRating: 4 out of 5

I'm a Colts fan from Italy and was my first football game; they lost the game but it was a great experience even my favorite player did not play.

  • Worth it

    by FootballFann12 on 8/17/09Lucas Oil Stadium - IndianapolisRating: 4 out of 5

The game was great and totally worth it. I had a great time. From the moment we got there untill the moment we left i had a wonderful time an feel that it was the best it could be. The only thing that would have made it better was if the game actually mattered and was not preseason. Still worth the money spent.

  • Indianapolis Pre-Season game

by geolen on 8/15/09Lucas Oil Stadium - IndianapolisRating: 2 out of 5

Disappointed, Not worth the amount I spent on the ticket. Maybe on a game where they played the game and put forth an effort yes. But no, not not the pre-game where they are trying out new kids and new plays. Most boring time I've ever spent watching the Colts play and for the most money...

  • its only pre season

by highlanders on 8/15/09Lucas Oil Stadium - IndianapolisRating: 3 out of 5

The game it self was not exciting and being the first pre season game I understand. But it was great being in Lucas oil stadium. Awesome place and had good seats!

  • Go Colts Go!!!

This was my first time in Lucas Oil Stadium. The stadium is truly fabulous. Although the Colts did not win, it was still a lot of fun.

  • great 1st half ok 2nd

by govikes on 8/15/09Lucas Oil Stadium - IndianapolisRating: 4 out of 5

It was great to see the Vikings beat the Colts in this preseason game. The first half was a lot better than the last half. It lost some steam. Both teams have work to do before the real season starts. GO VIKES!!!
