About

Music really does have the power to save, and R&B singer KEM has the story – and the Grammy nominations – to prove it. After a troubled adolescence that included homelessness and addiction, the singer turned his life around through music and an interest in spirituality that has informed his sound and songs ever since. In 2013, KEM released What Christmas Means: Deluxe Edition, an album of spiritual songs featuring R&B legend Patti LaBelle on “Jesus” and Ledisi on “Be Mine For Christmas.” Previously, KEM released 3 gold-certified albums in the 2000s through Motown Records, a label that perfectly suits the classic, throwback sound found on successful singles like “Love Calls” and “I Can’t Stop Loving You.” His 2010 album Intimacy: Album III peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, earning him 2 Grammy nominations, including Best R&B Song for “Why Would You Stay.” On the road in 2013 with his What Christmas Means Tour, KEM has been treating ticket buyers to his classy take on holiday spirituality, earning rave reviews for his intimate, inspiring live concerts.

This was my first time seeing Kem in concert Mother’s Day weekend ant Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall, I was very very impressed with his performance. I was supposed to go to the concert last year, but I got my little puppy instead (Gucci) so thank you to my husband Frank for making my Mother’s Day weekend special this year❤️

    Awesome Performer!!!!!

by Ladiiee T on 5/17/24DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - Durham

Kem is a phenomenal performer, this was my second time seeing him. I took my mother foe mother's day. It was her first concert. We had a ball. I would definitely go to his concert over and over again. I hate I didn't get a signed copy of his book. We didn't know where he was signing at after the show. That would have been the highlight of my mom's experience if we had gotten the signed book and a picture with him. She has already asked what concert are we going to next lolol. Thanks Kem for such a wonderful experience ❤️

Sound and premiere seats are trash

by John on 5/16/24Boardwalk Hall - Atlantic City

Floor seats may aw well be in the parking lot. Staged need to be lifted higher for people who are not able to stand. Sound system is trash. Great lineup but trash experience honestly.

    Mother's Day event

by Jazz on 5/15/24Boardwalk Hall - Atlantic City

Concert was great overall. The seating was too tight (horrible). Could not fully sit back due to the your shoulder touching someone else shoulder. We had great view of the stage and screens with the risers seating area thats about it with those seats. Yet the best was SWV them ladies stole the show. Sisqo had a separate set from DruHill and did amazing. Silk had played all their jams. The audience helped make it better but overall they were ok. Kem was ok.

From the opening act to Kem himself the concert was amazing. I danced, and I cried his music has that effect.

    About the acoustics

by ViVi on 5/15/24Boardwalk Hall - Atlantic City

The show was exciting and a great lineup. The acoustics, however, was too harsh and loud that the singers talent was smothered by the overly loud musical tone.

    A True Blast

by Hip Hop Grandma on 5/15/24Boardwalk Hall - Atlantic City

This was the one of the best concerts I have ever been to. Every performance was excellent and the DJ kept us partying between sets. Definitely a Mother's Day weekend to remember.
