Mizzou Tigers Men's Basketball History
Mizzou played its first season of men’s college basketball back in the 1906-1907 campaign as an independent school. One year later, the school joined the Missouri Valley Conference.
In 1967 Norm Stewart took over the team, which was by then a member of the Big Eight conference, and the program took off. Stewart led the Tigers for 32 years, turning them into a highly competitive program. He was on the bench from 1967 to 1999, during which Mizzou won eight conference titles and made 16 NCAA tournament appearances. The era featured Derrick Chievous, Anthony Peeler and Steve Stipanovich playing for Mizzou en route to having successful NBA careers.
While they were a charter member of the Big 12 Conference upon its inception in 1996, Missouri joined the SEC in 2012. Since joining the SEC, the Tigers have made the NCAA Tournament five times. As of the 2022–23 season, the team is led by head coach Dennis Gates.

Game was intense and the atmosphere was exciting. We had two cheering for the Illini and two cheering for Mizzou so it was very fun!!

Overall had a nice time, college like atmosphere. Restroom lines weren't too bad. Beer prices are way too expensive.

I would LOVE to see an NBA team get picked up by KC to play in the Sprint Center. That would be the best thing to hit KC in a long time!

Game was very exciting, got real loud throughout the game. Although my team lost, I had a very good time and look forward to going to more events at the Sprint Center!

That was an excellent evening!! I really enjoyed the before activities in the power and light district and except for the final score the game and the enviroment were excellent

Worst part of the evening was getting out of the parking garage after the game. It was a nightmare. Overall the experience was great and I will gladly attend other events at the Sprint Center
