  • Good bar band but...

by SJ • The Paramount - Huntington on 4/2/25Rating: 2 out of 5

Definitely NOT worth what we paid for. With drinks, the night was over $300! The music was too loud and the guy singing was just an average singer. The band was ok, but the horns were flat at times, but again, I see this at bars for free. So there was a big screen behind them and lights. No big deal! There was no showmanship. The fact that a couple of the reviews before mine said the singer sounds like Neil Diamond, made me laugh. Obviously they never heard the real Neil Diamond or have been to one of his concerts. I was dissapointed overall and I won't see them again.

Neil Forever is a fabulous show that brought back many memories of prior Neil Diamond concerts. The performance is exceptional and well worth the investment!

Listening to the lead singer was like listening to Neil!! If you closed your eyes, you wouldn’t know the difference. Great show! Highly recommend!

  • Great concert!

The theatre is lovely, the staff were helpful, the concert was great. My only complaint was the fog machine that kept blowing and causing irritation to my eyes and throat. My friend had the same problem. Think about people with sinus or breathing issues. I do not know how the singers cope with that.

  • Not bad...but not great

by Darlene • Capital One Hall - Tysons on 3/19/25Rating: 3 out of 5

It was pretty good. Good songs. I mean who doesn't love Neil Diamond. Music was kinda loud in some places and we couldn't understand the lead singer sometimes, but we knew the words. Couple of problems I had, was that i felt like I was more in a big band bar, rather than a huge venue. There really was no "performance value". Just song after song after song. The lead singer looked awkward at moments, especially when playing the guitar. It was clear this was something very new and they have had very little experience on a big stage, if any. The woman far overpowered the lead singer and there was zero chemistry when they sang together. I felt like I was watching a battle on The Voice. He has a good voice, but no where NEAR the style and charisma of Neil Diamond. I wish people would stop saying these tribute bands sound "exactly like Neil Diamond"They are completely delusional. There is only one Neil and this singer is not close, at all. But again, his music is wonderful and it was good.

  • Average experience

Honestly, for me I was not impressed. Nothing special about the band’s performance that night. I would not attend another performance. The band was just okay.

  • Very good show - spot on vocals

by Sophia on 3/18/25Capital One Hall - TysonsRating: 3 out of 5

Neil Forever was a good show. The lead vocalist certainly has Neil Diamond's signature sound down pat.. Song selection was great. Backup band and singers were very good. The Sax player was just OK. Vocalist's were excellent. However in honesty, I felt the show lacked in presentation. The backdrop screen had little variation and could use some good pictures of Neil and visuals during the show while the vocalist was singing. I was disappointed that the vocalist did not wear signature Neil Diamond shirts. He wore a lot of dark & black which blended too easily into the background of the other musicians on stage - so he did not really stand out as the star of the show. I felt like at times he was "phoning it in"or like he was rehearsing at a sound check or a dress rehearsal. He did very little interaction with the audience and did not command the stage the way I would expect a lead lead vocalist to. There were moments where fans were up by the edges of the stage. And he didn't even play to or acknowledge them. I really feel like he could use a performance coach and I'm saying this constructively. His voice is excellent and spot on Neil Diamond. But he really could use a bright, blousy, colorful. shirt and improve on his command of the stage with more energy and with direct audience involvement for instance look into the audience, interact... He also could benefit by. bringing an audience member or two up on the stage during the show for a moment. I think his show would be a lot better if he did these things. My background is Vegas Entertainment, and I've been an entertainer for over 35 years. I've seen just about every kind of show you can imagine And these are basic elements that would elevate this show to a much higher level if he implemented them. overall, I enjoyed it. and I would give it like a three and a half stars here. But I really feel like he needs to work on performing to the crowd more. I did like that. He gave a few little stories in between songs. That was very interesting. But I just feel like he needs to have a little more energy and excitement. on stage.
