  • Good and loud!

by fjorab on 4/20/10The Warfield - San FranciscoRating: 4 out of 5

The pre-show DJs were good, but i wish Orbital had taken the stage earlier. The scheduled start time was 9pm, and Orbital finally came on about 10pm. The only other complaint i have is that although many people like loud music, this was unbearable. I do not want to muffle the sound of a concert from having to wear earplugs. This was an indoor venue, too, so the volume wasn't necessary. All the little nuances in the songs were lost in the big sound. That said, i was really pleased with the concert overall, and the setlist, live versions, light effects, and their stage presence were all amazing. For two hours of music, they packed it with plenty of goodies. I wish i had gotten to meet them and have them sign a CD.

  • Great Show!

From beginning to end this show had tons of energy! The only few gripes I have is that it was almost too much energy for too long, and there wasn't a lot of melodic breaks (there were a few, and they were AWESOME!). All in all, great show. I always love going to a show with a lot of gear.

I waited 9 years to see Orbital play again in the US. I finally got to see it. I'm rating this 20 stars out of 5. Nuff said. Amazing.

Great music, of course, but I was expecting a little more *playing* and a little less *mixing*. They had several keyboards that went almost completely untouched. The opening act was TERRIBLE. It was super loud (which is not a problem per se) but I forgot my ear plugs so my ears are still ringing :)

  • Phenomenal!

Orbital were amazing. Their talent combined with a mostly analog setup and a great FOH sound engineer produced some of the best live sound I've heard in a long time. Come back soon, Hartnolls, we love you!

Had been waiting 15 years to see these guys. The show blew my mind... still picking up the pieces.
