About

PERIPHERY IN CONCERT:

Periphery has been at the epicenter of the progressive metal scene ever since first getting audiences thrashing back in 2005. The band's face-melting shows are a crash course in the unique metal subgenre known as djent, treating concertgoers to extensive breakdowns, complex rhythms, and plenty of seven string guitar. From the breakneck tempo and unexpected melodies of "Passenger" to the epic sonic onslaught of "Icarus Lives", Periphery is a heavy-hitting and unforgettable live act that always get pulses racing on tour.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Periphery formed in Washington, D.C. in 2005 and quickly built a following with their pioneering djent metal sound. The band spent its early years on the road touring tirelessly with acts like Veil of Maya, Darkest Hour, and The Dillinger Escape Plan. In 2010 they recruited lead vocalist Spencer Sotelo and released their self-titled debut album, an auspicious collection that peaked at No. 2 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart and No. 12 on the Hard Rock chart. Following tours with Dream Theater and Protest The Hero, the band released their 2012 sophomore album Periphery II: This Time It's Personal -- a No. 3 hit on the Hard Rock chart that once again brought them out on tour. A powerful live act known for their high-octane live shows, Periphery continues to blow minds in concert.

Again Periphery exceeded my expectations. Lovable band members, complex music , incredible vocals and this performed perfectly and precisely. With a unique energy and live approach to their incredible song writing. Live mix was very good and somehow dynamic ! Shout-out to the guy behind the console !

  • Periphery at its best!!!

    by 2Late on 5/20/24MTELUS - MontrealRating: 3 out of 5

Periphery was freaking awesome!! Spencer’s voice is flawless. Didnt like Jake Bowen forst part. Waaaaay too smooth for a night we intended to smash the moshpit. Eidola’s sound was horrible. We couldnt hear the rythm guitarist at all. Still worth the price just to see Spencer

  • Periphery sucks

This was the most phenomenal show I’ve witnessed. Put seeing Periphery on your bucket list if you haven’t already.

  • Djent is not a genre

by FB on 5/19/24History - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

We had a great night with outstanding opening acts. The place was pretty big and the logistics were good. The sound had little to no issues and periphery seems happy to play there. As for the band, it is Periphery. You can expect nothing but the best.

These shows were so much fun! The set lists were great, everyone in the band was at the top of their game, and the crowd was singing along and bouncing around. One of the best live shows I’ve seen in a while!
