They were awesome and I loved to dance to their music!
This group was amazing. Really innovative in their fusion of different musical styles; and they did a great job of encouraging a fun dancing atmosphere. Hard to resist with the beat!
This event was one of the best I have ever seen. The power of the music, the party atmosphere, the joy of it all. Awesome!
I went with a few friends to celebrate my birthday-- wasn't really sure what to expect but I had a great time. Red Baraat is a great mix of Bhangra and funk -- fantastic musicians, fantastic energy, great to dance and great to watch.
Bowery Ballroom on a frigid February 1st offered an explosive line-up that yielded me a wasted heap at the end of the night. It must have been my fourth or fifth time seeing Red Baraat, whose blend of Brooklyn banghra, D.C. go-go and New Orleans Funk is like a holy ghost church revival -- in a way. It's not only their musical precision and eclectic steam, but the effusive delivery that leads the crowd into a frenzy. Much love to the unstoppable Sunny Jain. It was my first intro to Superhuman Happiness. The jam-band-like set was killer, bending dance and funk and rock styles into a very contemporary sound. Had to look 'em up post show and was not surprised they're assembled from a variety of Brooklyn groups (Antibalas, TV on the Radio, Chin Chin). Stuart Bogie, the helm of this ship, is one of my new faves.
the band the venue the crowd the opener all incredible
Couldn't stop dancing to Red Baraat's mix of Bhangra, funk, go-go and New Orleans brass. The musicians are incredibly talented and have contagious energy that just gets the crowd going. I haven't ever seen a live music show this good. Went home and immediately bought their albums and can't stop listening to them since.
Superhuman Happiness, the opening band was surprisingly good -- really tight rhythm section, great sound. Then Red Baraat just rocked the house for well over 2 hours. They have incredible energy (the tuba player jumping up and down ceaselessly!). It was a real treat, everyone danced and had a great time.
Soo much fun! Excellent musicians. Can't wait to see them again.
Red baraat was awesome! They have so much energy there is no way to listen and not move!
Loved the Red Baraat show at 8x10! Loved their bhangra and Louisiana style music...one friend said, "go-go" style...I danced ALL NIGHT! Hard not to dance to such catchy beats/rhythms and awesome vibe! I'll go again for sure!
Always an amazing, energizing dancing experience! !
