This was 4th time I had seen Robert Randolph and band. Band did not seem well rehearsed. Show started late. Venue was cold and unfriendly. It added to the disappointing performance.
Full of energy and love! This family has so much talent. Fun to watch, but if you close your eyes and listen you can pick out all the intricate notes from each instrument. Robert is amazing and the drummer never stops.
Have been listening to RR and the family band for about 10 years, but seeing him in person was off the charts! If you like his music then do yourself a favor and find his show!!!
Robert Randolph and his Family Band demonstrate the musical family values of togetherness, joy and obvious hard work that they put into building their skills and performing for an audience. The band plays with one mind and a singular purpose of putting out an explosive mix of straight blues, funky blues and some good fun R and B soul. And Robert Randolph does blues playing on the pedal steel guitar that one can not even imagine and the supporting cast of cousins etc were equally excellent. The show was of very high energy and despite the relatively small crowd, they delivered an energetic performance as if they were opening at MSG for Eric Clapton - which I was happy to read that they have done. I really enjoyed the unique mix of funky blues/soul and when they closed with the Sly and the Family Stone song - Thank You - it all made sense. A true cohesive family unit that has honed its craft and brings this energetic mix to its audience and delivers an energetic, fun and excellent performance - catch them if you can.
The sound was terrible. It was so loud it hurt.Could not hear the words. The tuppert player was drowned out.
I have seen Robert Randolph before and this show did not disappoint it was amazing he continues to be brilliant!!!!!
The show was really that, A Show! Robert put on a great concert and was a real showman getting the somewhat laidback audience involved. Hope he passes by here again soon!
Robert Randolph is always smiling, interacting with the band and audience. His enthusiasm is contagious. What a mix of funk, rock and roll, blues, and lengthy jams!! I will always go to see this family play within 100 miles. Thank you, Robert!!!!
I wish they would have announced the names of the two opening acts. We had no idea who they were.
Robert Randolpf and family are clean, engaging and as professional as a group can be. His sweep/pick style and slow builds reveal a man possessed of enjoying the intricate melodies and rhythmic patterns inherent to the genre. Polyrhythm and a punctuation had me grinning the whole night. See this dude!
venue was okay, however, the beverage prices were way too expensive. Over priced would be an under statement
Great concert! I loved the audience participation in the show. There is a lot of energy and joy in this band! The addition of the guitarist from the TV show "Live at Daryl's House" was a big plus. I have been following Robert Randolph since 2008, but this was the first time I had seen him live. He did not disappoint. I had watched him on video playing his pedal steel and lap steel, but had never seen or heard him play his Telecaster. Very talented, Very very good show
The venue wasn't big enough to handle all their music. Vocals were difficult to hear at times. But it was the Robert Randolph & the Family Band and they always put on a good show!!!!
Absolutely astounding! Robert Randolph and his Family Band absolutely tore the house down! I would absolutely recommend everybody see him if given the chance. Ears felt funny for the next couple days but it was worth it!
I have seen alot of acts over the years and this was a real eye opener. Didn't know what to expect and the talent that this group brought to the stage was amazing. Just sat back and watched and listened to some great music and Robert was amazing. I had great seats and I just watched this man who has mastered his skill on his flat guitar just light it up and Jam all night. Pretty special and hard for me to put into words, but this cat got Game!
They brought the house down! An amazing night of funk meets jam-band meets soul meets gospel.
I caught this act live in Ft Lauderdale. Robert Randolph and the Family Band are truly gifted! Start to finish they rocked in perfect harmony and without hesitation. How this band is not playing massive venues is beyond my understanding of the space time continuum. These guys and gal are on time in tune and rocking. I suggest that if you need to have a good time SEE THIS BAND. If you leave the concert and don't feel 100% better than when you came in you'd be remiss in your existence if you didn't seek medical attention immediately. Robert Randolph and the Family band are health food for the soul for those of us who like to move to the music. Rock on Schultzy5.0
Having seen RR and his band several times, I've never been disappointed. There is no better performer if you want to stomp your feet, clap your hands or shout. I will see him whenever and wherever I can.
if you haven't had the opportunity to see this guy live I would say get your tail out there and see him. had seen him on television and have his music as part of my collection...but live,WOW!!! quite the performer. just watching him one can tell he is having a ball on the stage and it shows with his music and interaction with the fans. can't wait for an opportunity to see Robert Randolph & the Family Band again. next time though I hope Danielle, his sister, is on that bass.
