  • what a great show

by sam on 11/10/23Alex Theatre - GlendaleRating: 5 out of 5

this was an incredibly great show. He and his band mates are incredible musicians, and he's such a personable guy. A great musician in his own right and someone who hung out with Guy, Clark and Townes Van Zandt and made two albums with Emmylou Harris. Can't get better.

  • Rodney looked and sang great tonight

by Tom on 10/22/23Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 4 out of 5

I hadn't had the opportunity to see Rodney in many years and have not been at the Birchmere in quite a while. Rodney & Beth Chapman did not disappoint as a duet tonight. Rodney and Beth both looked great and gave an excellent performance. Lots of audience involvement and Rodney's voice was strong and clear. It was a really good show with Rob Ickes & Trey Hensley performing then joining Rodney and Beth for some great music. A nice night that ended too early for me.

  • American Treasure Rodney Crowell

by Deb on 10/22/23Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5

Rodney Crowell is a treasure as a songwriter and preforming artist. I have seen him several times at various venues and he never disappoints his fans. This show was also a Time Machine for those of us that have followed his journey since the 70’s playing everything from “Leaving Louisiana in the broad daylight” to his current album’s “Everything”. We had great seats at the Birchmere whose staff is top notch.

  • Loved the show

by Diane on 5/8/23Sony Hall - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Anytime I can hear Rodney sing “Still Learning How to Fly” in person I’m a happy person! Just great. Still gives me a rush. Wonderful energetic performance throughout. Some great new songs. Talented musicians and backup singers.

  • What a night!

by DavePete on 5/5/23Sony Hall - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

We had a fabulous time at the Sony Hall show in NYC - the venue was great - food/service was great - the music was OUTSTANDING! The opening act was little out of synch with Rodney's style but when he came out - he was awesome. The band was fabulous - everyone was in good voice - the song selection were spot on - this was the 4 time we've seen Rodney in the last 14 months - he never fails to WOW us!

  • Rodney shines

by Bigbuddha on 11/16/22Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5

Rodney was great! The storyteller and songwriter told great stories in between acoustic versions of many of his memorable songs. The Birchmere venue is always a great intimate place to enjoy great music and tonight was no exception. Rodney stayed and signed his new book and took photos.

  • Rodney and the Birchmere - a perfect combo!

by DavePete on 11/16/22Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5

We weren't sure what to expect with the format of this show - we saw Rodney here in May with his band and they hit it out of the park!!!! But have no fear - Rodney is the consummate minstrel and he floored us with his songs, stories, and readings, And the Birchmere couldn't have been any more perfect a setting for him. Third Rodney show of 2022 that we have attended - all different - and all FANTASTIC!!! Wow!

  • What a fabulous show!

What a wonderful display of musicianship, star appeal and personality. Rodney never disappoints and the musicians he he’d with him were outstanding!!

  • Wonderful

by Ted on 5/24/22Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5

Rodney Crowell was outstanding as always, as was his band. It's a true pleasure to watch a country legend like Crowell stay true to his roots and still turn out great song after great song. Also love his low key, easy going on stage demeanor, kind of guy you'd just like to shoot the breeze with.

Rodney Crowell and The Band I Love are exceptionally gifted and consumate, professional musicians. Like pros in many endeavors, they made the cokplex look natural and easy. And a throughly entertaining evening. Thank you all.

One of the best shows we’ve ever seen at the Birchmere or anywhere else. Great band, great playlist, great voice. Such a night. Our first time seeing RC but surely not the last. Wow!

  • Incredible Concert

by Theresa on 5/23/22Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5

Rodney Crowell is an incredibly talented musician and amazing songwriter. He has overcome many health issues these past couple of years by looking forward, enjoying his craft and entertaining his loyal fans. His current band is outstanding! What an amazing group of musicians and the mutual respect and regard for one another is refreshing and a joy to witness. Rodney is a gracious man who is also equally as excited to highlight those who are part of his band. It was nice to see them really enjoying themselves. I particularly liked the new music written during his health journey and discovery. It's so beautiful to close your eyes and listen. Often, the music sounds like a prayer or poetry. About life. Where we are, where we are going. Life. Death. I don't care anymore. Amen and keep on playing music. We will keep on applauding and enjoying what you produce and present.

  • Up close and personal with Rodney

by Peter on 5/23/22Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5

Up close and personal with Rodney… The Birchmere is an up close and personal venue and Rodney had an all acoustic rock ‘n’ roll night. The musicianship of all of the band members was marvelous! And Rodney just knocked us out.

  • Absolutely fantastic

    by G&C on 5/20/22Bijou Theatre - KnoxvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Rodney Crowell dazzled us with his performance. He is such a talented songwriter, singer and musician but we had no idea that he has such stage presence. He did a wonderful job showcasing his phenomenal band and telling stories about his songs that made them even more special.

  • Rodney is supreme!

    by money4nuthin on 5/20/22Bijou Theatre - KnoxvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Rodney was his usual supreme self and even better the band was tremendous. Great talent from beginning to end and they had fun stories that help with understanding the writing of the songs. And the crowd was so kind and chill also. Bijou has always been a great place to see real talent!

  • Blown away

by Wb on 5/20/22Bijou Theatre - KnoxvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Incredible performer with great audience connection.

  • Never seen him better

by rg on 5/20/22Bijou Theatre - KnoxvilleRating: 5 out of 5

I've seen Rodney a half dozen times. For someone who is serious about songwriting, this was the best of his shows ever. He gets better with age. More introspective, more energy, more knowing he is coming to the end of the line. I have seen this with all the iconic singer songwriters who will never be replaced. I have been to hundreds of shows over the past 40 years. I've seen them all multiple times. Extremely good vocals for someone his age, and you can tell he's putting everything he has into the entire performance, and especially the vocals. That changes everything, including re-thinking how far up in the pecking order he is with all the greats.
