She looked good Dress was great! Hair needed help. It was ok. Not her best. But when you wrap a show up with,” Little Red Corvette “ who can complain.
Sandy B seems to prefer singing to comedy. Her act was a random collection of 4-year-old bits read randomly off of scraps of paper and magazines. MANY of the references went so far over the audiences head that there was an almost audible collective,"HUH?" from the crowd. It seemed a bit off, including the lengthy plea to buy merch in the lobby, cash only. Not really worth the 65 dollars.
Always enjoy this intimate venue. But this particular performance? I thought this would be a comedy show. A few minorly chuckable jokes interspersed with a handful of songs I thought I'd never have to hear again. I was hoping to laugh the night away and that just didn't happen. Was hoping for more Sandra and less music.
The divine Sandra Bernhard remains so by being not only hilarious, but also relevant. Her singing adds to her shows, and I could wish she did as much music as comedy. I hope she will be returning in a few years.
Sandra was hilarious. No-holds barred in her conversation and fearless in her performance.
Amazing show. An all-around spectacular evening of entertainment.
Sandra Berhard is brilliant! She has a sincerity to her that was both inviting and entertaining. I felt as though she was talking to me at a party in my own living room. I am happy I made it out to Royce Hall to see her.
SB never fails to bring it. As a fan for over 25 years, I love how her comedy has evolved and she is much more focused on herself and less on celebrities. Her voice is in top form.
I love this chick, but this was not Sandy! at her best. She was entertaining. However, I hoped for more of her ascerbic, brilliance. And, instead got a run-down of her hum-drum European Vacation. There is so much "stuff" to discuss, I expected Carlin-esque Sandy, not "father knows best" Sandy, ah me. Sadly, I wouldn't do it again.
