Love these guys. Even the trio fills the room with funky sounds.
I was very excited to hear the trio Soulive. I caught their show at the blue note on Saturday, July 1 the early show. No question these guys are hands-down, super talented and cohesive a unit as the they come. Explosive guitar and Jamiest of keyboard base and you'll hear as well as a dialed in percussion. The fact that these gentlemen are just straight up, musicians can justify their lack of stage presence to some degree. The closeness of the group begged for more inside connection with the musicians, the fact that they went from one song to the other, with very little breaks or interruption, or dialogue. When you have that much talent in a room that is by design to bring people close to the music and the artist it's like having the best dessert in front of you that you can only eat with your eyes. I think this quintet can do better to connect with the audience. If that happens you would have a very memorable and complete show. Make no mistake the music was amazing its the delivery and personalization that needs the work.
Great to have Soulive back in Boston, the band brought the goods and sounded great!! The Paradise is not my favorite venue in the Boston area, however on this particular night it was not too bad/too packed. You were able to move around a bit and catch some different sight lines from both the balcony and the floor. I certainly hope that Soulive is able to return to Boston again in the near future.
I have seen Soulive many times and this show was off the chain! The band was totally amazing and the guest appearance by Razell was the icing on the cake. BT ALC Big Band was an amazing opener too!
Is there a more impressive trio playing today? Is there a genre of guitar Krasno hasn't mastered? Only the icy rain storm kept me from a second night in Hartford, CT.
The rustic overtones almost ruined my night. When they covered "wrecking ball" I almost hung myself off of the balcony. Thank god Soulive is so talented. They saved my life.
What an incredible show! Eric Krasno is so tight on the guitar, his style is beyond belief! Niegll Hall on the keys and Al Evans on drums both are just unreal too. A very tight and well performed band!
Great vibe, great musicians, and a very fun evening! Appreciated the covers and setlist.
Fantastic band! Good people. Drinks were affordable and the crowd was dancing hard!
