Sparks the Rescue Tickets

Aura is a fantastic venue with standing room and seating upstairs, along with an additional bar. The acoustics are great, and it’s an all around good time. STR has made a beautiful comeback, including two new songs that stick with their original feel, yet elevated. Many of their recent shows have sold out completely, which makes me incredibly happy for them. It has been fun watching them over the past 15+ years, and how they’ve evolved while staying true to their roots. I’m so glad that it’s the original members, including Marty, who is the resident screamo/hype man. I’m now a parent, raising my kids on STR, and I love it. Great show, great vibes, great time all around.

Took the family to Criterion theater in down town Bar Harbor to check out a few bands. Sparks the Rescue was the best of the bunch (although we did miss the first band) Our seats were great and I even snagged some merch on the way out. Never listened to them before the show but I would definitely recommend giving them a Try if you have a chance. We all enjoyed the show and would do it again.

I have seen Sparks play all over the state and I always love seeing them at Port City Music Hall. Preferred seating is nice as well as having the bar open on the main floor (and not just downstairs).

Anyone who watched the Portland music scene between 2004 and 2009 saw Sparks the Rescue, The Sophomore Beat and The Minus Scale play, with other bands if not together. They always gave a great show then and they have proved that they can still play a great show now. The Sophomore Beat especially, rocked it as though not a single day had gone by since they played their last show in 2011, giving just as much heart, energy, and character to their set as ever before. Meanwhile, Th he Minus Scale and Sparks the Rescue reached deep into the past to play songs from their very first LPs and their more recent (2008) music. Fantastic bands, fantastic venue, fantastic show.
