About

Taking Back Sunday is one of the most notable bands to emerge from emo’s third wave. The group, which formed in 1999 on Long Island, New York, has featured the lineup of vocalist Adam Lazzara, guitarist John Nolan, bassist Shaun Cooper and drummer Mark O'Connell for nearly two decades. TBS have released eight studio albums, including their 2002 platinum-certified debut Tell All Your Friends and four career Top 10 releases on the Billboard 200. After 2004’s “A Decade Under the Influence” became their first single to hit the Alternative Airplay chart, the quartet released their breakthrough 2006 effort Louder Now, led by the Hot 100-charting single “MakeDamnSure.” The band spent 2022 collaborating with the likes of Steve Aoki and The Maine before releasing their 2023 full-length, 152.

  • Band amazing venue not so much

by Mandy on 8/7/24Tabernacle - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

The band was absolutely incredible. However the Tabernacle in Ga was not that good. Thought it was great there was 2 lines one for regular tickets and one for fast pass/vip. However when going in they didn’t even bother to look and see if you have a fast pass. They didn’t even ask. And the fast pass didn’t really do anything on time. They pretty much let the other line in at the same time.

  • Fun show but....

by Britt on 8/7/24Tabernacle - AtlantaRating: 2 out of 5

Sadly, the lead singer of this band can hardly carry a tune anymore. Many songs were painful to listen to and basically unrecognizable lyrically, and others he just dropped out and only sang selections of the verses. His energy is great and we still had a good time, but it's a hard listen. I also felt like they played too many songs from the new album and not enough of the classics.

  • Jannus never disappoints!

by LauraZombiekillah on 8/6/24Jannus Live - St PetersburgRating: 5 out of 5

The entire event execution by the staff at Jannus was great as always. TBS and Citizen were awesome and the Jannus crew assisted in making it a great experience all the way around.

  • Slightly disappointing

by Mel on 8/5/24Rating: 2 out of 5

The opening act, Citizen, was great. I’ve never heard them but I am now definitely a fan. Taking Back Sunday was… iffy. The vibes were great, but Adam was just not good. He was obviously drunk and just sounded bad.

  • Revolution is garbage

by MissOrangeJ9 on 8/5/24Revolution Live at the Backyard - Ft LauderdaleRating: 2 out of 5

No AC, no space, I saw the top of the bands heads from the second story. Just awful set up. Waste of money. This venue is terrible. Taking Back Sunday is amazing.

  • This breaks my heart

by ErikaP on 8/5/24Revolution Live at the Backyard - Ft LauderdaleRating: 2 out of 5

I’ve loved TBS for decades, and having seen them about a year and a half ago it was one of the best performances I’ve seen. Having said that, this was one of the worst shows I’ve been to. I’m not sure what was going on with the lead singer but he did not sound like he was well. I’m totally understanding if a performer is sick or going through something but having booked a hotel, the tickets, and gotten a dog and baby sitter I had to leave this show early because it was soo bad and because it went from an outdoor to indoor covert it was oversold and over packed. I’m partially disabled so I need to stand near a railing or have something to lean up against and was crushed and pushed out because it was so crowded. I’m devastated and disappointed.

  • Heat and vocals

by Laz on 8/5/24Revolution Live at the Backyard - Ft LauderdaleRating: 1 out of 5

Show started at 7pm, opening band didn’t go on till about 8:30pm. Idk if it was where we were standing but we couldn’t hear the vocals at all.by the time the headliner went on, it was so hot, we could barely breathe. We stuck around for two songs, we still couldn’t hear the singers voice, the heat got worse, so we decided to leave, it was very uncomfortable.

  • Revolution is too small

by Kent on 8/5/24Revolution Live at the Backyard - Ft LauderdaleRating: 2 out of 5

The venue was probably twice its capacity. There was nowhere to stand and see the band, and the first floor was an absolute furnace. This band can't no longer do concerts at smaller venues. Most of the time, we were outside the main area watching from a screen in the other room, which I found ridiculous. This left a bad taste in my mouth, and I will no longer return to Revolution LIve for concerts.

  • TBS is ALWAYS great!

by Joeku on 8/5/24Revolution Live at the Backyard - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

If seen Taking Back Sunday at least 50 times over the last 20 years or so and they never disappoint!

  • Good show

by Luis on 8/4/24House of Blues Orlando - OrlandoRating: 5 out of 5

The bands were awesome and the venue was a really good venue for a show.

  • TBS is too big of a band for HOB

by Sarah on 8/4/24House of Blues Orlando - OrlandoRating: 3 out of 5

I’ve seen Taking Back Sunday for decades now. They are my favorite band and I’ve never missed an opportunity to see them here in Florida. Honestly, I may pass the next time they are at the House of Blues because this venue really sucks. The amount of tickets that are sold are over the venue’s capacity and people are crammed in! There is no space for anyone to enjoy the show since the pits are so full you are touching everyone and more people try to fit in which makes it hard to breathe. Also I was positioned on the rail way and when a handicapped person needed to wheel down the ramp they couldn’t because of the amount of people blocking the walkway. To sum it up if there was a fire in that place we would all be screwed! Taking Back Sunday did amazing as ever but I would suggest not having them play at the House of Blues in Orlando!

  • So. Good.

by Michelle E. on 8/2/24The Pageant - Saint LouisRating: 5 out of 5

Band sounded great, crowd was awesome, had the best time!!

  • Amazing show

by upierczi on 6/26/24Fillmore Minneapolis presented by Affinity Plus - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

The show was amazing and on time. They played most of their most famous songs while also including new material

  • Taking back sunday

by Lexisp1992 on 6/24/24Fillmore Minneapolis presented by Affinity Plus - MinneapolisRating: 4 out of 5

Taking back sunday was great! As was the opening band citizen. My only complaint is the venue. It was small, which made it easier to get to the front which was awesome! Also was very beautiful at the fillmore. However the drink prices were the most absurd thing I've ever seen in my life. 20 dollars for a vodka red bull in a cute little 6 oz Dixie cup. I will never spend another dollar inside that venue again. Complete highway robbery. Heard a ton of complaints by others as well. If I ever return to the fillmore I will make sure I'm good and drunk before I walk in cuz that places prices left a real sour taste in my mouth. Other than that was an excellent night

  • In a word, fun.

by ScotAub on 6/22/24Old National Centre - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

What a great show…the band and crowd were just having a great time…warm up band Citizen brought it too. Great job! May have to go over to Columbus to catch them again in July!

  • Amazing show

by Bunnie on 6/22/24Old National Centre - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Taking Back Sunday and Citizen were great. The venue was well run and lovely, the pre offered parking pass was helpful.

  • Great great show

by Stephen on 6/22/24Old National Centre - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

I loved everything about this show. But something needs to be done about all the vaping that goes on in a SMOKE FREE venue.

  • Always a blast!

by Indigirl on 6/21/24House of Blues Cleveland - ClevelandRating: 5 out of 5

Taking Back Sunday was a blast! This is my favorite band and I see them every time they are in town, and sometimes in other towns! They never disappoint! Excellent stage presence, perf etc sound, great blend of old favorites and new soon to be favorites! High energy and they really connect with the crowd. The venue staff at HOB was the best I’ve ever seen as wells and I go to a ton of shows!

  • Awesome Show in Cleveland OH

by Steve B. on 6/21/24House of Blues Cleveland - ClevelandRating: 5 out of 5

My wife and I took my daughter and her friend to their very first concert. They, had, a, BLAST! The House of Blues Staff was very welcoming and got us in the door without any issues. Our host walked us to our VIP table and our waitress was there shortly after to accommodate all of our needs. Citizen opened with a lot of energy and Taking Back Sunday brought the house down.

  • Great in studio, not so much live

by Topher on 6/19/24Stir Concert Cove-Harrah's Council Bluffs Casino & Hotel - Council BluffsRating: 1 out of 5

As the title says… their sound was terrible, lead singer stage presence was very cringey. Really a disappointment since I have liked these guys as long as I can remember. I’ll still support whatever they produce in the studio, however this will be my last concert.
