Talented!!!
by LeenieInNJ on 4/15/25The Wellmont Theater - MontclairRating: 5 out of 5Extremely talented, loved the show and would see it again. My only gripe was the Wellmont has the music part so loud it overpowered the singers voice.

Extremely talented, loved the show and would see it again. My only gripe was the Wellmont has the music part so loud it overpowered the singers voice.
From where I was seated, 7th row center, couldn't hear lyrics. Guitar feedback had my chest vibrating. Only drums wee chrisp. It was a shame, since the musicians were very capable.
This was a great performance where the performer, Shawn Barker had everything down pat. His voice, mannerisms, story telling where excellent. He had everybody on their feet clapping, and singing toward the end, especially on the encore! Sadly the only problem I had was the people directly behind me talking loudly during half of the show.
This was a great show!! The singing, the music, the stories!! Would definitely see it again, if given the chance.
I'd see this tribute again ! He sung well and performed awesome!
We've seen this show 2 times and it's fantastic!!!
4 of us went ages 70 to 38 we all enjoyed the concert. They involved the audience, which made it fun. Great performance.
Fun but disappointing. If the sound system was set up better for the front rows it would have been an excellent show. If you go , don't sit up front. Speakers were pointed more to the back over your heads. Drummer was loud from the first row you could not hear the singing. Although the drummer was fantastic.
We had a wonderful evening at the show. It was very entertaining and even educational. We loved hearing the backstories of the music performed. It was my first time at this venue, and I thought it was a great setup.
Show was a bit too fast paced. Singer was talented but didn't sound much like Johnny Cash. Still, a good show overall & worth attending
