  • A Memorable Afternoon!

by Rob on 3/19/25UB Center for the Arts - Mainstage Theatre - BuffaloRating: 5 out of 5

It was a great pleasure to see The Princess Bride again after many years, and to hear Cary Elwes speak of the making of it afterward was a real treat! After a long career on stage and screen, he was certainly very comfortable chatting with the audience, and his stories were both humorous and heart-warming. It was a delightful afternoon!

  • Inconceivably Brilliant

by LMJ on 3/19/25UB Center for the Arts - Mainstage Theatre - BuffaloRating: 5 out of 5

Watching this movie is always a pleasure, especially when among other likeminded fans. Having Mr. Elwes come out after and regale us with funny anectdotes from the making of the movie was a unique delight that I heartily recommend others to take advantage of should the opportunity present itself. Overall, a warm, fuzzy, nostalgic evening with a classic fairytale of my youth.

  • As We Wished

by Ashley on 3/10/25The Factory - Saint LouisRating: 5 out of 5

The event was perfect. Watching the movie and listening to Cary tell stories was amazing. I’m so happy that actors are willing to do these kinds of events with their older movies because I could have never appreciated something like this before, but as an adult it was wonderful and I could afford to go.

  • Fantastic Night for Princess Bride Fans

by MK on 3/10/25The Factory - Saint LouisRating: 5 out of 5

I thoroughly enjoyed the screening of the Princess Bride and Q and A with Cary Elwes after the movie. The movie was so good! Cary told funny stories about filming and then he answered some audience questions. I could have listened to him talk for hours! Cary is witty and engaging and it was my sister’s birthday so she was so happy to be sharing this experience with me!!!

  • Fantastic Experience!

    by SilverRain3 on 3/10/25The Factory - Saint LouisRating: 5 out of 5

The Factory is a wonderful location and there really isn't a bad seat. Watching the movie with everyone was exciting to see there are so many that love what we do. Seeing Cary in person was magical and listening to him talk about the more intimate parts of the movie was great. I am so happy I went and was able to share this experience with my kids.

  • Magical Evening!

by Tennille on 2/20/25Morrison Center for the Performing Arts - BoiseRating: 5 out of 5

Rewatching the Princess Bride was great. It had been so many years since I’d seen it. Hearing Cary talk about his experiences on the set was the cherry on top. He was charismatic and fun to listen to. Definitely a top 10 experience and I’d highly recommend this to anyone who is a Princess Bride fan.

  • Good

by ME on 2/18/25Morrison Center for the Performing Arts - BoiseRating: 4 out of 5

Loved, loved the movie and enjoyed the interview after with Cary Elwes. But it would have been nice if they had him on the big screen so the people in the mezzanine could have seen his face. The Morrison Center really lacks in this area when they have events.

  • So Wonderful

by Teal on 2/18/25Morrison Center for the Performing Arts - BoiseRating: 5 out of 5

Wow what a fun experience! This was the type of thing I’ve watched on YouTube in other cities, not Boise. It was very cool. The only critique or thing I wish was different was that they had a merch table. I spoke to a few attendees and we all said they would have definitely bought some souvenirs had they been available. Otherwise fit was great and my whole party loved it.

  • Fun storming the castle!

Mr. Elwes was warm and welcoming in the meet and greet. It is said that one shouldn’t meet their heroes. In this case it was well worth it!!

  • Pure Magic!

by Jenny B. on 2/18/25Morrison Center for the Performing Arts - BoiseRating: 5 out of 5

I saw The Princess Bride in the theater as a child and many times after that, and I read Cary’s book, As You Wish, as soon as it was released, and absolutely adored it. He is extremely talented and an incredible writer and storyteller. This theater experience brought back everything special about the movie and seeing Cary live, tell his stories while doing voice impressions of the people involved elevated the content in the book to a new level. It was a magical experience, we laughed, we cried, and we left with huge smiles on our faces. The most impressive part was that Cary genuinely enjoys this tour and telling the same stories over and over and his true appreciation for the audience attendance and participation and continuing love for the film was beautiful to see.

  • Magical

by Idaho Re on 2/18/25Morrison Center for the Performing Arts - BoiseRating: 5 out of 5

The Princess Bride: An Inconceivable Evening event was so much fun. We attended the meet and greet and were thrilled to find our host Cary Elwes kind and engaging for the brief moment we had. The film was fun with audience engagement and a full house always makes the guest of honor feel great. In turn, so did we.

  • A Splendid Experience for Fans

by pdrseuss on 12/1/24DeVos Performance Hall - Grand RapidsRating: 5 out of 5

I highly recommend this for fans of The Princess Bride. They should go, and bring along others that haven't seen it but would love it. You get to enjoy a viewing of the movie followed by Cary Elwes speaking about the many adventures in the making of the classic film. His story telling alone is wonderful, especially when his imitations of the beloved cast and characters come out. I also highly recommend the audiobook of his book As You Wish. Warning: our showing didn't have an intermission. I hope other showings will. And our movie's showing wasn't on a cinema size screen nor with cinema grade sound.

  • The Same Wind He is Using

by Rol on 11/26/24DeVos Performance Hall - Grand RapidsRating: 5 out of 5

Cary was witty, told stories wonderfully, so handsome. Wish he would have walked the stage a few more times so we could get a good gander at that hunk. Also wish they would've sold memorabilia....
