About

A self-described "Celtic soul" trio, the Script were founded by guitarist Marc Sheehan and vocalist Danny O'Donoghue in 2001. The two musicians had previously performed together in Mytown, an Irish-based boy band that enjoyed moderate success at home but failed to generate international acclaim. After the group disbanded, Sheehan and O'Donoghue spent several years in Los Angeles, where they worked as producers alongside the likes of Teddy Riley, the Neptunes, and Rodney Jerkins. They later relocated to Dublin and recruited Glen Power as their drummer, trading promising careers in production for a blend of contemporary R&B and polished, anthemic pop/rock.

Irish alt-rockers The Script haven’t wasted any time getting their music career off the ground since their eponymous studio debut surfaced in 2008. The self-described Celtic soul trio is enjoying the continuing success of its third album, the aptly titled “#3.” That 2012 release, which features the platinum-selling track “Hall of Fame” with will.i.am., topped the charts in Ireland and the U.K. and has been covered by musical television series “Glee” — a true pop culture nod of approval.   To date, The Script has helmed two extensive headlining world tours, both of which boasted impressive ticket sales across the globe, including several sold-out arena shows. The soulful performers have also provided opening support for concerts by some of today’s most iconic acts, including fellow Europeans U2 and Paul McCartney.   The Script has even transitioned to the screen, licensing a few of their singles for use on U.S. shows such as “90210” and “The Vampire Diaries” and U.K. programs “EastEnders” and “Made in Chelsea.” Frontman and singer/songwriter Danny O’Donoghue also took part in “The Voice U.K.,” serving as a coach alongside Tom Jones, Jessie J and will.i.am.

  • Fantastic Concert

by Jojo on 10/15/24Coca-Cola Roxy - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

The show was fantastic. Energized and fun. I’m looking forward to their concert in 2025 - will be getting tickets. The only disappointing thing was they only played for 1 hour and 20 minutes. A few more songs would have made their concert perfect!

  • Always a Lively Show!

by EB on 10/14/24Citizens House of Blues Boston - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

I love seeing The Script live! They always bring such great energy, especially for a Friday night in Boston. They keep the crowd going and put together a great set list, seamlessly weaving their classics in perfectly with their most recent hits. I've seen them 3 times now, and can't wait to see them again (hopefully in Ireland)!

  • Incredible

by Marissa on 10/14/24Coca-Cola Roxy - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

It was so much fun! They played a good mix of all of their songs, interacted with the crowd and had a lot of upbeat songs on the setlist, with just the right amount of slower songs. I will never not love seeing The Script in person! So glad they are back touring the US and we’re close enough for my husband and I to go see. This made my year!

  • Solid show, but short

by TTT on 10/14/24Coca-Cola Roxy - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

First time listener and I enjoyed the music a lot, along with the energy of the show. It lasted under an hour and a half I believe, which was too short relative to other main acts who’d perform min. Of 2 hours, sometimes up to 3. The visual side of the show was minimal, which was not too far out of line given the type fo show. .

  • Massively awesome performance on a small stage

by Phyl on 10/10/24The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver SpringRating: 5 out of 5

This was such a special show. A great mix of new Script music and classic awesomeness, all brought to the stage with unbridled energy. The new band members fit in so well, although we will always envision Mark on stage right. I hope the boys make it back soon. I’m still singing along!

  • I've been a fan since I was a teen

by Best concert I've ever been! on 10/10/24The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver SpringRating: 5 out of 5

I love The Script, and watching them play live was an amazing experience. Their energy is something out of this world; they're super humble and kind to the audience. The venue was great. Event was on time. Crowd was respectful. 10/10!

  • A wonderful night

by Rola on 10/10/24The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver SpringRating: 4 out of 5

This venue gets disability accessibility right. They make it easy for wheelchair users to see the show. Specific shout out to Nick and Amanda who went out of their way to make sure I was doing okay.

  • Awesome concert

by DCconcertlovee on 10/10/24The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver SpringRating: 5 out of 5

I was the Script in Philly opening for Pink! And then as the headliner in a small venue outside DC they were excellent both times. Great vocals, awesome at engaging the crowd. Well worth seeing.
