  • Ecstatic

by Geraldine on 11/10/24Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

It was a gift from me to my husband and he was ecstatic. Only regrets was that the tour did not stop in France. My husband keeps saying ‘’oh this one is my brother prefers songs’’.Twin brother live in France and could not go to Belgium. The venu was perfect style and size. The band was good and the sound too. Different artist solo were amazing. We are super happy about it.

  • New and old

by Appy on 11/10/24Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 4 out of 5

Matt’s voice and delivery of the songs was superb. I was disappointed with the set list. The first set was all new which are good tunes but new second set was older stuff but too much B side and deep cuts. If you have already spent half the show on unfamiliar songs, get the place going by stringing together the songs the audience came to see. At one point Matt asked the audience to sing along and nobody knew it.

Since we became empty nesters this year, we finally have had the time and energy to go out again to see live music...of course, 1980s bands have been nostalgic fun for me, so I was really excited to get a chance to see The The live. What a letdown. The first set was their new album in its entirety, which, honestly was a bit of a sleeper. Next time consider your audience and mix old and new. Ok, so I thought, maybe the second set might have more recognizable hits. It did, but something was just "off". Aside from the fact that the music was too loud, and the screen projections got repetitive, the band's energy was just not there. Most of the music sounded the same. Honestly...they could have been so much more innovative in many ways..what a missed opportunity. I actually found myself yawning and itching to leave after "This is the Day". My partner, who was not as familiar with the band was totally bored, although he admired the distinctive voice. The upside: beautiful venue at the Fox Theater in Oakland. Meh show overall.

  • Amazing show!

Incredible night of Great music, good company and beautiful venue. The The put on an incredible show. First the new works, then the oldies but goodies. Matt Johnson's voice is still amazing and his creativity is still doing it's thing. Best show for me of the year. If you get the opportunity, do not miss this show! You will not regret it.

  • Nostalgic, authentic and beyond expectations

by Karly on 11/7/24Orpheum Theatre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Seeing THE THE perform live was incredible. It felt like a true full circle moment to attend with my parents and siblings- the people who introduced me to THE THE and who I shared countless memories singing along to Matt Johnson's impeccable voice with. Set 1 was a beautiful and authentic listening experience of Ensoulment and set 2 had us on our feet singing, clapping and dancing. This goes down as one of my all time favourite concert experiences. Nothing but THE THE's raw musical talent and lyrical exploration of topics that still deem true today. I'm grateful to have been a part of Johnson's resurgence to the touring scene. Truly a magical evening!

  • The The was very The The

by Hitman on 11/6/24Paramount Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

Really great show. The new album (played in its entirety) was the first set. Really a great record already. Second set was amazing. The sound was studio quality. Highly recommend going to see them. We liked it so much we bought tix to the show in LA.

  • Great show, great venue, great sound.

by BigLou on 11/5/24Paramount Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

Love The The! The Paramount Theater is an exceptional venue for concerts. Not only is it gorgeous but the acoustics are awesome. The The performed some new songs as well as their older stuff. His voice has not lost its greatness and the band complimented him. Excellent concert, one I’ll remember for years. Only thing I wish is that they would have allowed pictures. I know it’s the artist prerogative to say no, but it would have been nice to get one or two shots in during the concert. Anyway, it was a wonderful concert and it you get a chance to see The The live, you should take the opportunity…

  • Don't miss The The whenever you have a chance!

    by Craig J on 11/5/24Paramount Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

It's been 20 years since I've seen The The and it was as amazing experience as it was back then! Relatively mellow first set, a bangin' second set and my favorite songs were in the encore. I will see them every time they come to Seattle.

  • Fantastic Show with Meaningful Music

An evening of poetry in song - The The touches on the current state of the zeitgeist and makes you rock to it.
