Not as Expected
by Marie on 2/12/25Rating: 4 out of 5I was disappointed honestly by the experience. Although they are talented musicians, they were not as professional as I had hoped. Firstly, the biggest problem I had was with their violinist Earl, he made a comment about how he “cheekily” finds it amusing that their songs are covers for explicit lyrics. They requested that the audience be more “rowdy” and wanted them to sing the profane lyrics out loud as they played which you could tell made most of the audience uncomfortable. I think they don’t understand or care that most of their audience listen to their music to avoid profanity, not to lean into it. Secondly, their instruments were out of tune for the first few songs. Third, they only played one song from Bridgerton, and begrudgingly mentioned that the show had increased their popularity- but wanted the main credit for how they felt they “made it” when Sabrina Carpenter for reposted them on TikTok. All in all, never meet your hero’s. They don’t seem to care about how their modern instrumental covers inspired the younger generations of kids to want to learn how to play. They seemed to care more about their egotistical preferences towards profanity and getting validation from the people they liked in the audience.
