He stayed in the Lone Star State all through high school and went to college in Georgetown, Texas at Southwestern University. He had originally planned on getting a degree in education but ended up working as a DJ in Dallas. It was this job, which led him to try amateur stand-up nights that launched the beginnings of his comedy career. Engvall made the long-distance move to California in 1990 so he could seriously pursue a career in stand-up, and his first major break was co-hosting A Pair of Jokers with Rosie O'Donnell. He also made short appearances on The Golden Girls, The Tonight Show, An Evening at The Improv and The Late Show with David Letterman. By 1996, he had a contract with Warner Bros. and started his series of comedy albums, the first of which was title Here's Your Sign. This went on to become his signature line and a major part of all of his standup routines. He gained widespread notoriety as part of the 2000 Blue Collar Comedy Tour, which included big-name comedians Jeff Foxworthy, Ron White and Larry the Cable Guy. He went on to participate in the tour for six years, as well as star in three related films, the Blue Collar TV show and a satellite radio show. Fans can follow him on Twitter @billengvall
Really enjoyed the show! Refreshing to hear a comedy act without profanity. So glad I had the chance to see him before he retired.
He did not disappoint. Always funny and a great time.
10 stars is too low. It was the funniest show I ever saw. We laughed from start to finish.
Bill was great. The venue is great. Our seats were great. Look forward to our next visit. Easy access in and out.
Bill Engvall was incredibly engaging and all out hilarious! I was laughing so hard that I couldn’t even catch my breath!
The venue was clean and spacious! Bill Engvall was more hilarious than I expected. I have been waiting for months to finally see him live and he did not disappoint. A perfect night out with my husband!!!
Love Bill Engvall!! Have seen him several times over the years. Always a great show. Sad to know it’s his last tour, but wish him well in retirement. The venue is great!! My first time there and I look forward to going back for more shows.
Bought these tickets as an anniversary gift for my husband and I. He’s never heard of Bill Engvall or the Blue Collar Tour. Well needless to say we both had a great time. Just wish the show was a little longer.
Glad to see the last show good luck Bill enjoy your retirement
Bill Engvall had us laughing the entire time! He was so funny!
What a fantastic show! The best 1 1/2hrs I've had in a long time. Bill was as funny as ever. Everyone at the venue was pleasant and eager to help. The ushers were very attentive in helping folks find their seats. What a great trip.
Bill is a funny man! Was expecting more of his “here’s your sign” humor, but he was good!
Bill was awesome! I laughed so hard my eyes were watering. Great comedian 👏 👍
Kept everyone engaged! Laughed the entire time! Loved his life stories with the funny twist
He. Was. Awesome!!! My wife and I laughed until we cried. Life’s humor spot on that anyone married for any time can relate to!
We saw Bill Engvall a few years ago at Lawrenceburg, IN and we loved him so much that 10 of us made the 3-1/2 hour trip to Owensboro to see him again. We were not disappointed, Bill made us laugh until we cried. Sad to hear he is not going to be touring anymore but glad he will be enjoying his family more. Thankful that he does not use fowl language in his show, who wants to pay to listen to that, NOT ME!! The RiverPark Center is a great place because there are no bad seats and the sound is very good. We had a great time!!!
I laughed my butt off. I really enjoyed it. I needed a good laugh
Have always loved him on TV in anything that he played in, but seeing him in person was the icing on the cake. His show was awesome and we had great sets 3 rows from the stage.
We had 3rd row seating directly in front of Bill so it was an awesome experience.
I gave this experience to my husband for his birthday. We laughed more than we have for a while. He has been sick for the past several years and this was our first time going out in that time. It was the best pick me up we could have asked for. Thanks more than I can tell you.
