  • Capricorn Revival Concert @ City Auditorium, Macon, GA

by TheOtherOne on 6/3/20Macon City Auditorium - MaconRating: 5 out of 5

These guys did a great job of covering 50 years of hit-making from musicians and recordings from Macon. So many musicians, so many hits, almost too much to absorb. Band leaders Chuck Leavell and Randall Bramblett and band did a great job re-creating arrangements of these songs that are etched into our memories. Of course there were a couple of cool surprises. Jonathan Edwards (a New Englander who had the first gold-selling single on Capricorn Records), Bonnie Bramlett (who many forget was briefly with the Allman Brothers Band) and still sounds great, Duane Betts did a surprise cover of his father's 'Pony Boy' and a two-acoustic-guitar version of the Allman's 'Little Martha' that brought a hush over the crowd. Marshall Tucker Band, Wet Willie, Elvin Bishop, Sea Level and of course multiple Allman Brothers Band favorites made up the night, finishing with a sparking version of 'Jessica' and the appropriate 'Revival' to send everyone home. Keep On Smilin' indeed!

It was a beautiful event with a great lineup. If there was a better way to celebrate Capricorn music I don’t know what it might be. Chuck Leavell was just the man to coordinate the musicians in this show. Tommy Talton and Duane Betts stood out for me.

The Macon City Auditorium was the perfect venue for this concert of a lifetime! The acoustics are great, and the view is awesome from just about anywhere in the house! Staff did a really good job with the crowds.

The music event of a lifetime! There were moments that took my breath away. So many incredible musicians performing some of the best music ever written. My music heroes! It happened in Macon GA on a cold December night. You had to be there to feel the magic as I can't express it through words.

  • This was by far my favorite event at this venue!

    by J. H. on 12/6/19Macon City Auditorium - MaconRating: 5 out of 5

It was well organized and the music was fantastic. The last time I was at this venue for KC and the sunshine band I said I would never go back there due to bad experience, but glad that I did. Enjoyed every part of the 3 hours of classic music. Kudos to Chuck Leavell for organizing a great group of musicians to entertain us.

  • Best show I have seen in ages, well produced and executed.

Best concert in Macon Ga. in a long time. It's great to have Capricorn back after so many years and hopefully it will roll into additional concerts held in Macon.

Chuck did an amazing job putting this event together, one of the greatest nights of music I have been blessed to be a part of and I can only hope there will one day be a video of the entire night. Top notch from start to finish. Thanks, Chuck you did Macon proud and should hold your head high after pulling this one off .
