Great Evening - Hated to See it End
by 3 generations on 10/21/24E.J. Thomas Hall - The University of Akron - AkronRating: 5 out of 5I attended this event with my daughter and granddaughter. We were fortunate in that we had second row seats and the seats in front of us, although sold, were empty. So we were up close and personal. Not only does Frankie still sing as great as he ever but he is a great performer with great onstage presence. Loved the duets he did with Edan Everly. Loved his tribute to those who have passed who had played a part in his life and the story he told about each. Beauty School Dropout is obviously a favorite and the song ends with you'd better go back to high school and he points right to my granddaughter. The ironic thing is she is in high school but she's also in their cosmotology program, so my daughter and I thought that was pretty funny. Of course, she was probably the youngest one in the audience. I grew up with getting off the bus and running into the house and turning on American Bandstand, my daughter grew up watching all of the Beach movies and made sure her children did too. My granddaughter is a huge fan of Grease as well as the Beach movies, so the evening brought back lots of wonderful memories that the 3 of us have shared through the years. Frankie also shared pictures of his children, told us about his wife who happens to be from this area, and made it very personal and very touching. It's been a lifelong dream of mine to see him perform and I'm so glad that I was able to enjoy it with my daughter and granddaughter. My daughter is a voice major and loved the duets with Edan and was thrilled to meet Frankie Jr. and Edan after the show for the signing of their CD. Frankie was simply FABULOUS and we will probably be talking about this concert for along time to come. LOVED IT!!!
