Godsmack were a big part of the late ’90s hard rock revival, and they’ve continued to lead the way for legacy rock acts with three No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200, 28 Top 10 singles on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, three Grammy nominations and over 20 million albums sold worldwide. The quartet formed in Lawrence, Massachusetts in 1995 and played their first shows in Boston bars before recording their 1997 independent album, All Wound Up…, which was later reworked as their quadruple-platinum, major label debut, Godsmack, in 1998. The band’s profile grew as they joined the Ozzfest tour in 1999 and 2000, dropped their sophomore album Awake on Halloween 2000 and earned their first two No. 1 singles on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay chart with the album’s title track and 2002’s “I Stand Alone” from The Scorpion King soundtrack. Ahead of the release of 2003’s Faceless, Godsmack assembled their long-standing core lineup of founding members Sully Erna and Robbie Merrill along with guitarist Tony Rombola and drummer Shannon Larkin. The album kicked off a three-album streak of Billboard 200 No. 1 debuts including 2006’s IV and 2010’s The Oracle. The band collected their second career platinum-certified single with “Bulletproof” off 2018’s When Legends Rise, which reached the Top 10 on the Billboard 200. In 2023, the band unveiled their eighth studio album, Lighting Up the Sky.

    I’ve been going to Godsmack shows for ten years now and there are several reasons why they are my favorite! First off, they have Not increased the price of their shows since I have started seeing them. Secondly, they are the most professional showmen that play to this day, even after growing old, they still rock it out like it’s their first performance (my wife calls Sully Erna a Magician Musician). The particular show I refer to in this review was during the “Vibez Tour: an intimate night” and they played such a different feel that brought out even more beauty of the music and the people they are. Ultimately, they have kept true to themselves their entire career and if you get a chance to see them before they decide to retire, you MUST!! They are one of the last bands playing today that actually play their instruments, and make sure the crowd is having the night of their freaking lives! Also, the message Sully Erna lays out for the audience is one that must be heard: Music is a universal language that can bring all forms of people together, can bring beautiful memories that are everlasting to a person, and can bring peace too all. Their shows are a time and place when all people come together even for a few hours for one purpose to rock out and show love to others and the band.

    The show was in a 4000 seat theater. Godsmack did a great show with both electric and acoustic, a few great covers and some storytelling! What a great show!

    Amazing Vibez

    Godsmack didn’t disappoint. I loved the moments of conversation, the stories, the fun they all seemed to have. The music was fantastic as always. Bastian da Cruz was really enjoyable as an opening act. I hope he gets a record deal. I will always make extraordinary efforts to see Sully, he’s the Best entertainer ever. The venue was wonderful. Parking was free, seats were 😌 .

    Sully is a great entertainer. Loved that he engaged with the audience. Blew us away with his non Godsmack song choices. It was a fantastic night celebrating my birthday. Counting down the days till the band performs in my area again. Thank you Godsmack 😁

    Amazing show in a venue with poor sound quality

    This show was so amazing. They played so many good songs from their catalog and I enjoyed Sullys commentary between songs. However this theater has poor sound quality. I do not suggest seeing a band here if you can help it. It wasn't as bad as it was on Friday when I saw Social Distortion and Bad Religion but it still wasn't very great. It's a shame because there really isn't a bad seat in the house.
